Would like to strip the chrome flashing off some stainless hub caps and just polish them. Is there an easy way to strip the chrome or do I have to take them to a stripping place? Anyone know of a good shop? thanks?

With my car getting so close to being finished, I have been looking at the photo below (background on my PC) a lot and just not sure if I like how the front wheels look in the picture? I put the new cable on that I got last year from Corvette Specialties and it's loose on the trans end. The threads seem to bottom out but the cable flops around. Is here supposed to be a rubber washer similar to a garden hose on that end to seal ?

Do any of you guys have a preference as to which power buffer to use. Kind of getting tired of using the old hand method that I learned back in 1958 to clean and polish the car. Do I have to spend around $150 or is there a good one in the $75 to $100 range? Any recommendations? Thanks.
