Darren's window repair

I had Darren here today to repair a water leak in to his trunk. It was what I expected....a rust hole in the channnel.

We spent a good deal of time scraping out the old sealer and rust.

Once the channel was clean I sprayed the rusty areas with Eastwood Converter. After that was dry, I put HVAC tape on the inside of the trunk and filled the hole with brushable seam sealer.

Then we test fit the glass and marked it with tape.

And it's in.... almost half of the trim clips were junk, so he will get new ones and then install the trim later.

You want to do my truck next? Just kidding, not about the leak though. Nice work, fellow club members helping each other out.

One of the things I like about Mitch is he just keeps plugging away without fear and always has a get it done kind of attitude ... and we did! NAPA had the window clips in stock so after I get some sun and warmth on it later today I will button it up ... inbetween church and seeing all the kids and grand-kids.

Mitch really is a very knowledgable and capable car guy that I appreciate greatly. He is one of the many shining examples of why this car club is so great. Thank you Mitch and thank you all for sharing your lives and talents!

I was disappointed to hear it still had issues but the weather certainly hasn't been a help in getting it to "set". I'm really hoping the sun will soften the ribbon and get it to seal.

As far as "plugging away" we didn't have much choice as it couldn't stay here. Once you tear into a project like that, you gotta "git-r-done"...

Haven't seen any progress pics of your car for quite some time. Did I miss the thread ?  I like seeing other projects besides mine...
