It's a 2011 for my wife, LS nothing too special model, but the price was right and it gets way better mileage than that Uplander we had. Couldn't pass it up for the price.

I have had them as rentals a few times, nice cars, good mileage. I am sure the wife will enjoy it.

We had a 2010 rental last year in Florida with the 4 cylinder and I was VERY impressed with the performance and economy. We had a Dodge Avenger this year in TX and it was NOTHING compared to the Malibu. Power sucked and since I had my foot in it most of the time, mileage sucked too.

I LOVE beating on rental/test vehicles....

If I was in the market for an economy car, the Malibu is in the top 3.

I imagine the "employee discount" was pretty attractive. Bet the wife will love it...

With incentives, rebates, and everything else, it was $15,995. I got it for a little less than that because of employee purchase deal through GM. In comparison, the deals were a little smaller for a Cruze (replaced the Cobalt) and for a similar trim level the Malibu was about 500 more in total. Duh. Even the used cars were about the same as the new with all the rebates.

Um.........yeah...................that's a no-brainer......

I like the new Cruze and may look for one in a few years when I can get it for used price.

Nice car! I'll probably own one when used ones are under $5k :)

When I bought the impala I had a hard time deciding between the impala and the Malibu. But the Malibu with the biggest engine and most of the bells and whistles.

I got a 2010 Impala last fall. It was used, but again the deal was too good ($12K). I like the bigger car feel, but the Malibu really isn't much smaller anyway.

I really like what GM did with this new Malibu. I was just thinking about that on my way home from school yesterday when I seen a brand new one someone had just bought. Didnt even have plates on it yet.

The Impala is sort of a one-off. It was a rental, so it is an LS, but upgraded to a 1LT. No Onstar or XM radio, which I wouldn't have kept the subscription to anyway. No heated seats, and there's one other thing it normally would have but doesn't. They actually bought it at auction for me specifically which thay also don't normally do. The Malibu was a good deal anyway, normally they have LTs and LTZs, because of the options, but I'm not a luxory guy. I actually wanted the dark interior but couldn't get that combo for close to the price. The only option it has is an actual spare instead of fix a flat.

We bought an Impala rental like that no onstart (the man will have to get me the old fashion way) or XM it had a sunroof they told me it came from out Hawaii. It was a 2008 (got it in 2009) screaming deal with only 23,000 miles the dealer sold it with full warrentee extented to 5 yr 48,000 for $12.5k. really love the car plus it seats 6 so the whole family can fit in it. I drive a 97 Prizm all the time and I swear the Impala is just as good on gas but a whole lot more room and comfy. Hope it last like the Prizm as I had to do nothing accept brakes to the Prizm and it has 190,000 miles on it now. Drive it till it dies o give it to the son when he is 16

Prizms were good cars, my wife had one before her uplander. I sold it to a co-worker in 07 and he still drives it. Over 200K on it with only basic maintenance, brakes and tires.
