Best looking LS so far...
(Preview)
Saw this in a '67 300 Deluxe for sale in Des Moines, and thought it's one of the best LS engines I've seen that looks like a Gen 1 SBC: I guess that ugly LS baby can be dressed up to be prettier!

Another 200R4 for Transmission John and Supply Chain hits again
(Preview)
A couple of years ago, some of us in the club picked up a used 200R4 or two from the guy in Blaine that had a trailer full of them and didn't want them anymore. I threw mine on the shelf for a 'future' project, and when moving it recently decided to go ahead and have it rebuilt even if it's just sitting on the sh...

Can’t get dist to engage oil pump
(Preview)
What ever the online videos show does’t work. It on TDC for cyl 1. Dist is engaged with the cam according to #1 cyl with rotor pointing to #1 on the cap. Won’t go down that last 1/8”, at least I think it should go down a bit more. I turned the crank clockwise over two rotations, nothing happened. I also...

Why does one change lead to another problem?
(Preview)
Dist issue is solved. So why when trying to start and time the engine such a headache So pulled the air cleaner and base and got the car to run fairly well, so put back the air cleaner and base. So when running the accelerator up to check total timing the engine would kill. Thinking a gas problem. Tak...

We lost an NCC member last night

Many of you are on Facebook and already know this...but Dan Williams passed away last night in his sleep. His wife Cathy put it on FB, so it's on social media: I suggest the club do something for Dan and his family in his memory, but will leave it up to the Officers to discuss. Those in the club will rememb...

Power steering problem
(Preview)
The power steering system in my 64 Chevelle is all NOS or brand new, but it doesn't work . The gearbox is NOS and at least 20 years old, but it had been protected and the fittings covered. The hoses are all new, and the pump was rebuilt by Lares. It took longer to bleed than it should have, but did bleed so t...

Gear oil or wheel bearing grease for axel bearings?
(Preview)
I might not run the car for a couple of months if that makes a difference. I also read about jacking up the car on one side to let the gear oil run down to the bearing. Do I pack th3 cavity between the seal and the bearing with high temp bearing grease. Getting close to finishing the rear axel build. -- Edit...

Hi everyone. Thinking about powder coating the axel housing. Is there a possibility of getting media in the housing? Will I have to wash the housing out. Possible locations for electric oil sensor on Chevy 350
(Preview)
I have been looking at gauges as I just have the lights. I want to keep those functioning. Water sensor will go in the drivers side head. Voltmeter will go to battery. That leaves the oil pressure sensor. I don't want some kind of mess around the rear block standard location. But maybe that’s the o...

gorgeous 1965 Chevelle seen at SEMA
(Preview)
This car has been around a couple years, but I got to see it in person last week. It is absolutely magnificent. In the video he mentions a few things, but look at the door jambs, where the fenders meet the cowl, and the quarter to tail area. So many little things were changed. https://mothers.com/blogs/...

66 dual snorkel air cleaner assembly
(Preview)
Trying to find out if this will fit a 350 SB with a 4160 Holley with a 66 winters intake. Not sure how the closed vent tube will line up with the valve cover vent hole, clearance with the hood, or accelerator rod. I also have a 3/8” insulator for the Holley carb.

Well I test fitted my BB air cleaner assembly on the SB this morning.nn looks like everything will work for a closed system with a 3“ filter and cover just like my 66 BB. The other option I am looking at is a dual snorkel cover with a 66 base. I can probably run a pcv to the oil fill tube or the drivers side val...
