I talked Dad into painting this for me, while I put power steering and a factory shifter & console in his '68 Camaro for him.

I did make the custom hood (modified a Glasstek fiberglass hood) and got the rough body work done, but he's way more competent at final body work and wet-sanding than I am. cool

Very impressive Derek, truly a one of a kind work of art.
Are you routing air from the inboard headlights to an intake system?
Is the hood vent designed to unload under hood pressure? Cooling?
Could you post a pix showing under hood details.

After a very long wait I finally received and installed my Holley mid mount accessory drive setup. I’m still undecided on how to route intake air to the throttle body.

Driver's side inner headlight is ducted to intake air.

Passenger's side is unfinished, but will be ducted to an oil cooler if I ever get it done.

The hood vents do help with cooling, but the big advantage is that it draws high pressure air out from under the hood (lift), which makes the car way more stable at high speeds (has been track tested to 140mph and is far more stable than it was with stock hood)

Derek you need to update your avatar picture now.  Gotta say that old avatar picture makes the car look 'clunky' compared to the new look.  razz

Now that I live close to DCTC again I'll have to try to get over there on May 22nd and watch you do your thing.  And I can be your parts runner again if you break something.  laughing

And...I'll be at the Goodguys DM show, so will root you on at the event and maybe you'll have to let me ride with you again.  That time at DCTC is still stuck in my brain.  thumbsup

Done... yeah, that was an OLD picture. A lot has changed since 2008!

You talking about Ray and Ryan's crash out West? I saw it on Facebook, glad they're OK!

Yeah, crazy stuff.  3-4 weeks back they popped into the training center with their back braces on and such.  They’re lucky that’s all that happened.  Car looks great, man.
