I prefer the middle picture... black grille, with trim, and chrome bezels.

I am leaning that way, glad I saw Stan's HC grill with no center emblem.thumbsup

The trim arrived and will get mounted soon.

Picked up my rebuilt radiator today, did not want to go with a foreign aluminum one .
Will see how it goes but for not much more than a aftermarket i mine is GTG

Got the trim on the grill and new side light lenses mounted. That's it for now (until I break down and buy the chrome rings and side trim, since they now look shabbier)

And yes, I ran into the same issue of blending survivor quality and new looking parts when I did the '72 vert resto.  I ended up replacing the original stuff more than I thought I would because next to the new stuff it didn't look right.   clonk

as of this afternoon, the 71 is officially out of the CAC, and it it still winter, despite how nice it is outside.
Rebuilt radiator is in wheels are on the ground and I fired it up.

Glad to know the current Segment is completed, till the next adventure.tiphat

Permanent membership in the CAC is often maintained by "Multiple Parallel Projects" (MPP)

Many of us should just laminate our membership cards.dunno

The other is 'Car Flipping"
Also known as "I need a different challenge"cenuniv

It has been said before that many of us have a somewhat short attention span, thus MPP.clonk

There is no cure, nor is one needed.thumbsup

Just keep playing!

Perhaps I should have been more specific "the 71 is officially out of the CAC", but shortly, the 59 Nomad will be swapping parking spots and going into the shop for some work
Also the plan is now to get the parts bike, Honda CT200 built in to a off roader for the Grandkids (and me) to ride at the cabin.

Yep, my current guideline is to have one old car that can be driven, during the warm months.
Already starting to plan for next winters work, and for this summers trips!

Possible those places that do "Wraps" could come a with a tape color that is close?
Don't paint the chrome, tape it.

Or find a red tape off the shelf at Fleet Farm or Ace Hardware?

Not as permanent.

You're referring to the fuel gage sending unit, right?  If so, make sure that the new unit's rod angle matches the old one, and bend it if you need to, or your gage will read 3/4 when it's full. Don't ask me how I know. Lol

Ohms should be 90. Does the replacement state the ohms ? Or that it is for original replacement ?
