Nearly every 4-post lift out there also comes with a set of casters. You have to have them, but I'm guessing you'll use them 3 times in 20 years.

So, what do you do with the stupid/heavy/awkward/un-stackable/big things the other 7297 days??

I had a narrow area of wall between the overhead door and corner (19" wide, 8+ ft tall). Really couldn't "do" anything with it... then the lightbulb went off.

Metal is my medium of choice, but you "wood guys" could probably do a 2x4 flat, slightly angle-bored for a stub of closet rod dowel, and lag-bolt it to the wall...

That wall was MADE for those casters !

I saw another guy had made hooks and hung them on the posts, but they seemed to be in the way to me. This is way cool. I have 8 of those "leaning against a wall somewhere" too. They are in the car barn out back, so not really an issue, but I'm still challenged for floor space back there. Maybe next year I can use this idea to fashion something.
