Thanks guys, I have the tool for the window crank like Mitch showed. I also have a metal tool like Karl is describing, it works bit not the best For me. I saw a guy removing the clips on a 70 chevelle. With a tool that had kind of a J hook on the end. It went in along the top of the clip, then he slid it down, I was guessing between the cardboard and the metal part of the clip, so it would pull the part out of the door panel as he kind of rotated it.
The door clip tool needs to go between the clip and door and pry the clip out of the plastic receiver. If you pry the clip out of the cardboard door panel, it rips the panel, exactly what you don't want.
When I was a teenager, I took a small spring leaf, ground it more tapered, and ground a "V" into it. I still have it even though it has been more than a few years.
