I am not sure if this is attributed to my garage door accident or not, but it looks as if some repair/replacement may need to be done first. But where that spring pivot point is it looks messed up or partially broke. I am thinking this should be done before going further. I am wondering if this can be done without removing the door. The top hinge and pins look good. Also, is it better to replace or repair?

Remove door.
I have a short Phillips in a 3/8 socket that works well.
Once broken loose I use a flat ratchet on Phillips shaft.
Do you have the spring compressor to safely remove spring?
I can loan you one if you need it.
They make a roller kit that needs to be tapped into existing stud hole.
Works well.
I may have a used lower hinge that has a roller that is not too sloppy.
I definitely have hinges with fairly tight pins (no slop)
Let me know how i can help.

Thanks Karl. Mitch helped me a lot a few days ago. He fixed a twist un the door so it shuts great now. I had a hinge that I gave to Mitch and a kit to do the two lower hinges. I hope to just replace the lower hinge, leaving the upper hinge attached. The 66 fisher book has a procedure in it That I would like to try.
Got the kit a couple days ago. I'll get started on the rebuild soon. I thought I would bring it to the Bowling night, but realized that is MCACN weekend and I'll be in Rosemont, IL.
Did you get my email ? The kit had parts missing and "Back Order" on the packing slip. I called them and asked when they expected the missing parts, as there was NO mention of this on the website. They had no idea, so I got them to email me a prepaid return label and they said they would refund you the FULL amount you paid, including the shipping. Watch for that refund on your cc and if it doesn't appear this week, I'll get back on them.
I've been waiting for a back order part for 2 YEARS now and they keep trying to let me refund the amount. I keep telling them they've had MORE than enough time to find another vendor to produce the part and get it to me.
Thanks Mitch. No I didn’t get you email. racjim2@gmail.com. I’ll look for a refund. I think I’ll look to see if another vender has the kits. Ave a good Turkey day.
I've never found another kit that complete. You can get the roller sets and some arms with rivets other places. Many have the pins and bushings. This hinge only needs the roller and screw and might benefit from a new arm. I know I have springs, but I haven't dug into my boxes yet. Been busy working on the Camaro.
I just ordered 2 sets of the rollers and "rivet" screws. Don't buy anything else for now. I still need to find my box of parts for the spring. The bushings and detent arm are good on yours.
