Looks very nice Bruce. Great job. Any issues with glass alignment?

The alignment is better but still not great.

Actually, the front really should come off and the doors redone, the PO didn't get them on too good.

Trying to improve the alignment was the start of the "well as long as I'm at it" that resulted in new windows.rolleyes

As things were wrapping up, I got some pointers on getting the doors to latch without slamming them.

Karl and Jon, said get the latch off and then "fill the hole" while "seeing with my hands"rolleyes

Bob noticed that when the pushbutton was in the latch moved freely, making it easier to check the progress.

Anyhow they are both much better now

Thanks to everyone who helped out on Saturday!!

See the attached clip.

Progress continues, had inside door trin from PO so I found a picture of factory panel and added them to the inside door panels. No need to keep moving them around the shop, like the looks.
Also put the inside fuzz trim on the quarter window trim
Then this morning I saw the 52 in a video from last July, as close as we can get these days with the 13' snow last night.

Also cleaned up under the rear seat and replaced the disintegrating material with some slightly more modern stuff.

That car is so lucky you rescued it from neglect. Everything you do improves it.

Think I have found just the thing needed to fill the 3 holes on each side of the car.

3 holes.JPG

After a lot of looking and thought about adding a visor, a friend called me up and offered to sell me one.

Even have the right paint from the PO when they painted the car.
Mocked it up to see what to do since it has a one-piece windshield.
Think it will be fine with a small spacer made from a section of the divider chrome and a piece of oak. will probably glue it to the windshield.

Since the 52 is getting a visor.. guess its time to fix up the rear guard and put it back on
Thanks again for the help with the bumper.

Bit the bullet and painted the visor with the bit od paint that came with the car.
made a "cardboard spray booth" to get the ventilation needed and keep the overspray from going everywhere.
Pretty happy with the way it came out and the color. will have it buffed out and on the car for BTT50's in a few weeks.

Thanks, it was a bit of a splurge but think it will really add to the look.

It is still drying and seems to be looking better as it does.

People will be begging you to sell it with that visor on there and the rear bumper looking much better... LOL

I'll come down by the grandstand and look for you that Friday. Not entering a car, just a spectater this year.

My dad and I are not going to make it at all this year. His brothers and sisters scheduled the family reunion for that weekend and we have a grad party and wedding to attend that Saturday. I was looking forward to seeing the progress. Well, soon enough, I suppose. Looking great, Bruce!

 Absolutely!

I'm still trying to find a place that can match the bottom color. Have a lead on a guy in St. Paul who might be able to do it. After 3 trys I still do not have any that will work for the skirts.

Classy car and understanding, supportive Bride.

Nothing better than a smiling, lovely wife.

Good work!

As a few of you know i was looking to sell the 52. However there turns out to be some issues with the VIN which I finally was able to locate on the frame under the driver's side floor.
Lots of time with DVS and Yada, yada, yada... hopefully by weeks end i will have a letter (second one and fourth or fifth verbal direction) on exactly what more I will need to do to get a corrected title. Then its looping back to if/and how to sellrolleyes

Damn, good luck with that. I've been "wrestling" with the DMV for a few months over the title error on my '70 Chevelle.

Called the state yesterday to see what the status was on the title... the new one is in the mail.
No further inspections or documentation will be needed.
So, I've got that going for me.

Thinking the next one, if there is a next one, will only need a wax job and tire inflation before its ready for summer fun.

You'd be bored with a car like that...laughing

I sometimes think I should sell everything and get a "done" car too. OR, maybe finish one and sell the rest ?

Well, if I start with that as the goal, perhaps the end result will not be a total rebuild!
For the present there are a list of things on the 71 that will cover me for the winter.rolleyes

I never had it that clean!!

It is part of the value add they provide that some others do not do.

Hopefully it will sell fairly easily.
