Car has been in cold storage. How do I make sure everything has oil before starting car? is there a way to turn the engine and get oil into everything without starting the engine? Thanks
Pull the coil wire than crank until you get oil pressure. When I start my engine after the winter I simply don't pump the throttle, and with no choke the engine won't start. It takes about 15-20 seconds to get pressure.
Thanks Bob. I assume you mean the coil wire too the distributor? Right? Do you also spray a little starting fluid down the carb When you want the engine to start?

NO starting fluid, after cranking long enough to get oil pressure the carb will have been filled by the fuel pump. Replace the coil wire, pump the throttle pedal ONCE and it should fire right off.
You can pull the coil wire from either the coil or the dist, makes no difference.
I never use starting fluid, by the time the oil pressure is up the carb fuel bowls should be full.
When you reinstall the plug wire after cranking, with a mirror, look down the carb just to make sure the carb isn't flooding over. The float/needle & seat will sometimes sticks opened causing the carb to flood.
