As part of the return trip from FL, I sidestepped a couple hundred miles to Hilton Head, SC. I picked up some NOS sheet metal from a guy who had bought it in 1990 to restore his car and didn't need them. He has hung onto them all this time. He lived in NY at the time but moved to AZ a few years later and lived in AZ for 25 yrs before moving to Hilton head 4 years ago. He had never removed any of them from the original packaging ! I was concerned about storage rust, even though the cartons show no water/humidity damage at all. He opened the quarter panel carton but it was too heavy for him to remove for pics, but he said there wasn't any sign of rust. For the price, I took a chance and committed to buying them over the phone in January. I still can't believe I have these. They look like they were packaged a year ago, not 33 years.

I had hoped to get the Chevelle in the shop this winter, but the Camaro keeps dragging on. That should be a complete car by fall, even if it doesn't get final paint and be moved to the storage shed for the Chevelle to begin it's rebirth. That is a major project, with replacing 80% of the original sheetmetal. Frame will be stripped to bare, painted and entire suspension rebuilt. The only justification for rebuilding this car is.... it was built in Oshawa and I have the Canadian documentation that it is a real, unquestionable, Z 25 from the factory.

I didn't open the cartons for the fenders either, as they are designed to be stored standing. I cut a window in the one to get a pic of the tag on the fender, but there is no tag visible on the other one.
