For you fellas running big blocks in your 68-72 chassis what header brand and part number if possible are you running. Secondly did they fit or what hammering or modifications did you have to make so they would fit? Thanks

I am running Headers By Ed, the fit is spot on, they do hang a little lower than I like however.

But I'm not much help as Ed has retired. Great questing though, some day I may need to replace them.

Hedman 68198, 1-3/4 tubes, ceramic coated. No altering was needed. I do not recall if I needed to jack up the motor to get them in or not, but they have clearance and I have not heard them hit anything.

For what it is worth, I have attached some pics

Note: The car originally came with a set of Hooker SuperComps, with 2" Primary tubes and a 3.5" collector. If I recall, the passenger side had OK clearance, but the driver side hit everywhere. I did not run them, mostly because of 1) the clearance issues and 2) I did not have the HP that required that type of header.

I don't know that I would ever buy another set of Hedman's after the sh!t show I dealt with on my '66. Yes, they are 2 or 2-1/8 tube size and rubbed on everything, but the collector was even welded on crooked and pointed up at the crossmember. In addition to cutting and relocating the collector, I dented and cut nearly every tube to get these in the chassis. It seems the only consistently reported, good fitting header is Lemon's and you pay for that, but they might be worth it too.
