Does anyone have a suggested order of operations for sheet metal work on a 66 chevelle. Most of the sheet metal is going to be replaced. Just wondering if there is a generic order to do things it. Example 1. Trunk floor 2. Inner outer wheel wells 3. Quarter panels 4. Etc.

Does it need a main cabin floor too ? In my opinion, that needs to be replaced first. I've done it on a roto, but the body needs to be VERY well braced before cutting it out and even then, I had to roll mine upside down to get the body to remain in place to fit/weld in the floor.
1 piece trunk floor ? Only way to go in my world and the body needs to be on the frame for that.

I would be reluctant to replace any large panels without the body on the frame. I started with the floors and hide the welds above the braces. Once I became more comfortable (this was my first body off) I did the trunk. I did the lower aft rear quarters and drop down panels tieing them together then doors and fenders.
Before you start, get all gaps, doors, trunk, fenders and hood as close to factory specifications as possible. Then every step of the process think gaps.
Posting pictures of your projects ugly parts might generate more feedback.
Is your project a coupe, post, convertible, wagon, El camino?

We have it back on the frame while doing the floor pan and trunk pan, we are at a stand still waiting on parts. I was going to work on it over Christmas break but parts never came. Working on getting picture again
