Marriage of a Jeep Grand Cherokee and a 66 PS Gear box

I did this about 12 years ago, and it is still working fine.  I replaced the chevelle worm gear from the 66 box; but I don’t remember  if I replaced the pitman shaft from the Jeep into the chevelle box.  Anyone know if I have to put in the  Jeep pitman shaft. Or if all pitman shafts interchangeable?

Pitman arm is the same spline on both. I don't know if there are internal differences of the shaft.
