Great stuff! An era that I wish I could have seen firsthand.

I wouldn't want to live back then, but it sure is interesting to look back.

We did live thru those years, we were just too young to remember.

And look.... NO one has a phone in their hands...laughing

Back when gas stations provided a service other than selling overpriced groceries and beef jerky.  razz

I like the pic of the two ladies from Washington fueling up with the giant bug screen catcher full of victims.

I liked the fact that the gas tax in California was .08 compared to .50 today.

Seeing the oil cans stacked in the windows reminded me of this:

It's o.k. Derek, I got the reference as as I was a big Steve Martin fan in the 70's/80's.  laughing

We have all ranges of age in this group, so some references whiz right by all of us.  razz

I figured at least a few of you would know... if anyone shouldn't know the reference, it's me. The movie is older than I am!

I was probably too busy drinking, racing cars and chasing women to see that movie. The 70's were a bit wild for me.
I don't know anything about it and don't really care for Martin's humor.

I totally agree. It must be an age thing. Like they say if you rmember the 60s you really weren't there!! The seventies weren't much different.
