LED shop lights.

When I put the ceiling in the shop this summer, I replaced the cfl bulbs with LED and thought it was a LOT brighter in there. Working on the Camaro the past 6 weeks, I realize it is still FAR short of what I would like. I bought 2 4ft and 3 8 ft LED strip lights on sale at Menard's a couple weeks ago and just got them all up and wired in. World of difference in my "work" corner now.

I like those 4' LEDs that are around $12-15 at Menards
I have 10 in the shop, and 6 in the little garage.

Huge difference from before.

I guess I need to look into those. These have the 3 "temperature" settings, so I could get 5000 kelvin for "daylight" bright. We tried them on the 3200 and 4000 settings and after the bright white the lower settings looked yellow. The 4 ft were $70 and 8 ft $100. Figure that...shouldn't the 4 ft be half the cost of an 8 ..headscratch

When the "40 Watt Garage" went to 4000 Watts (equivalent lumens output) after the remodel & LED upgrade I was astounded. The last few years I've genuinely realized that "old fart eyes" really need a LOT of bright lighting.

Yep, except at night. These super bright headlights on cars now just turn to starbursts and are difficult to look past.

Cataracts are a way of life now, until they get bad enough to warrant removal.

My F-I-L used to say "getting old ain't for sissies". A person has to want to stay alive to put up with all the aging and medical changes.

In the back garage I went from 2 rows of 3 each tube fixtures with 8' bulbs (24' long x 2 rows) to 6 100w LED super white screw-in bulbs and have much better light now. I looked into tube fixtures but this was super cheap and easy since I had the screw-in fixtures there already too.

I replaced three 8' florescent with eight 4' LEDs. I don't need to say what a difference that was.

I use these: $16.87 regular price, but frequently on sale for even less.

They're not hard-wired in, and they hang from hooks so they're easy to move or add lights as needed. Just wire in an outlet at each light, so you can double the amount of lights really quick and easy. Also easy to replace if you ever have a problem, but I've had most of mine 3-5 years and never had one fail yet.

And, of course, they are a discontinued item and scarce. Red Wing is my closest store with 3...banghead

Check Walmart on line. They have a very similar lamp.
