This just came out, looks like it should fit in most chassis’s without modifications.

Saw that last week.
Has anyone done business with Silver Sport Transmissions?
They also offer conversion kits with multiple tranny options.

This unit has me rethinking the M-23 4 speed tranny from Jodi's.
Have not ordered anything yet as resources were redirected to other projects.
Biskwik would be a great test vehicle.

Switch out the rear Diffi to the 4:10 sitting under the "Basket Case" Biscayne, run the TKX behind the current 454.

Still would need a tranny for the 427 build aaaand my 1956/LT-4 Bel Air C-4 Vette chassis project.
The 1956/C-4 is in early stages, have bare seamless frame on trailer, need to strip front crossmember from Vette parts car.
Transport both to Colorado for custom front subframe and independent rear C-4 suspension conversion.

A bolt in 5 speed would be a great application for most of our Muncie cars.

Stan and I ordered TKO's last year from SST. We both had very good experiences with them and they are very knowledgeable. What I liked about SST was they took the Tremec and machined the case to 1) provide more tunnel clearance and 2) more shifter positions then Tremec. Their kits included new bolts, tranny mount, break-in fluid and a drive shaft. Plus, you get pictures of your tranny in the box and all boxed up so you can see what the package looks like before it is shipped to you. That way you see how it was handled during shipping. Once you have the tranny installed, you need to take some quick measurements, contact SST and then they build you a new drive shaft. Turn around on the drive shaft was 7 to 10 days. At the end of this year, mine developed an issue of not going into reverse. They provided me items to try to help determine if it was the clutch or internal to the tranny. I ended up pulling the tranny and shipping it back to them. They received the tranny at noon on a Thursday and I was notified at noon on Friday that they found the issue with it. There was a shim missing on the reverse shaft that was causing it to not go into reverse. They bench tested the tranny and put it in their test car and took it for a ride to make sure the tranny was fixed. I had the tranny back Wednesday of the next week.

In short......I would definitely buy from SST again!

Yep, 600 lbs ft torque capability and no tunnel mods. Could be a game changer.

Something I may look into for a future project. First things first, a stronger rear end. That won’t come until the current one gives up, though.

 I have a 1968 date coded 12 bolt that needs everything. It appears a novice installed new gears incorrectly and burned up the bearings and clutches with metal particles.

Housing looks good, but I need to repair the shock mounts from air shock abuse. It will be cheap enough to buy a new Eaton posi carrier, gears of your choice, install bearing kit and have Chris assemble it. You can be saving and buying parts over time.

I don't have any pics and it's buried in my storage locker. If you are interested, I'll have to dig it out and find a way to load it in my truck and bring it home.
