Silverado Tail light ?

Not a chevelle question, I might be able to figure that out.  No help at the dealership, Oh they offered to do it at accessories rate, But couldn't tell me which colors were for the brake light.

Here it situation, I bought a used topper for my 2017 silverado, it has a 3rd brake light and a dome light.  So I have the bed lighting with 2 wires leading to those, so just tap into the dome light.  Now the other two must go to the brake.

There is only one light with a plug that runs everything except the back-up light and plug.  Nothing on the internet or the gm truck forms with a light assembly like this.  There is a odd  looking connector with a red tab that I think you pull out to remove everything including the bulb.  No easy twist and removed like every other silverado I have owned.

So does anyone know how to remove that connector, do  you just pull out on the RED tab or push it in.  Better yet, anyone know which two wires operate the take light feature?  Thanks

Without a pic, it's hard to "see" what you are referring to, but my experience with those red tabs is, they are like a safety, to prevent the connection from separating. Yes, it needs to be pulled out, but there should still be another lock tab that needs to be depressed to allow the connectors to separate.

Thanks Mitch.  After much searching , it appears that on my trunk and newer ones they have a special female connector  that you use with the bulb connector  for  all those functions.  And there is 1 of the 6 connection points has has a plug that you pull out and gm makes a special connector gm 60012931 that you attach to 18 gauge wire and plug that hole, then run that wire to the topper 3rd brake light.  The ground from the 3rd brake light then is just run to a ground inside the pickup box light housing. Total cost about $2

I asked the gm dealership where I had bought 7 of my last vehicles and they seem to indicate nothing was available.  But could wire the topper if I brought it in, estimate $76.
