I'm planning to go sometime in July.

Might buy a set of slicks first... Hoping to get to 12.2 - 12.3 range, and not going to get there on street tires.

It would be fun to go. The only car I have on the street right now is the '38. '66 is still in Virginia and a bare shell.

'38 has 3.42 gears with the 200r4..should get me into the high 13's, maybe ?

How much power and weight?

I have always run about 1-2 tenths slower than I expected.

Next year I'm going to hook a bottle up to mine and get it into the 11s

Had it on a chassis dyno a few years ago and I think it was about 250 on the drum. Weighs 3,400#. Was hoping the ratios in the 200 will help it get out of the 14's.. 14 just sounds so slow. My original SS 454 Chevelle ran 13.10 with the LS5 and 12.65 with the 6 with 3.73 gears..

I think you'll be in the 13.6-13.7 range if you have a good converter and can 60' under 1.90

Converter is a stock Buick Turbo. It will stall some with sudden input...

If I were able to go, I’d be a spectator only. The last thing I need to do is destroy my 10 bolt racing when I told Mrs. Ghaasl I wouldn’t race the car. Also, just bought a new to us house, so the $$ isn’t there for a replacement rear end.

Leave the street tires on and it won't hook hard enough to break the 10 bolt.
I have a 1968 dated 12 bolt axle I'll sell cheap. You can save up and have it overhauled next winter...

We happen to have a very good set-up guy in the club, which reminds me, I need to see if he wants to swing by next Saturday and pickup a 3rd member to build.

We moved 10 months ago too. 19 year "project" there and starting all over with a new money pit here...

The blue '72 in the forum pick above next to John D.'s Blackie El Camino had a 354HP/375TQ dyno rated 468 in it, and the best I could get with a 200R4 and 3.42 gears was a 14.47. Spun the BFG TA's the first 20' even when I soft pedaled it. So, if you get any traction 13's are possible IMO. And yeah...14's sounds like such a slowwwww number to me too.

I’ll keep your 12 bolt in mind. I get the money pit thing. This house is only 2 1/2 years old and I’ve had to fix far too many things. The previous owners should never have owned a house. No idea how to care for it.

I see that ALL the time. People buy homes and let them deteriorate for several years and then move. We spent 19 years in our last place, updating and repairing, not just neglect, but really poor craftsmanship in the initial build. That house was in FAR better condition when we sold it than it ever was from day 1.
