Shannan got rear ended while at a stop yesterday on her way home from work. Now we have to deal with the headache of getting it repaired. It is only a few years old with 18K miles so assuming it will not be totaled but claim is in the works and an adjustor has not seen it yet. Just trying to be proactive. Any body shop recommendations? Preferably north end of town but prefer quality to location so will consider elsewhere.
My neighbor is a painter at Fairway Collision in Vadnais Heights. They have done work for us several times. Good professional shop. I trusted them with the Chevelle a few years back when I dinged the fender.
I hope Shannon is OK. Did she go to a hospital and checked for whiplash ?? It can take several days for that to manifest itself, so have her keep track of aches, pains and headaches.
It appears the hit bypassed the impact bar and the body absorbed the greatest amount of damage. You may need to fight to keep it and get it repaired. Lots of strutural damage, all the way to the front door. The low mileage might help, but insurance doesn't like investing a lot into an "older" car, more than 3 years.
Both Fairway and Gales have good Industry reputations.
They are both now second generation companies.
Usually an Insurance Company will spend up to 80% of value to repair a vehicle.
More than that and the Vehicle gets a salvage title designation if new enough.
Hope there are no injuries, monitor closely.

Thank you for the concern for Shannan. We are monitoring...she’s likely tired of me asking her how she is doing!
Thank you for the recommendations and insight. I had forgotten about Gales. Already have spoken to Jon/Hanks recommended shop and will call Gales tomorrow. Maybe they can get is in sooner than a month out.
All of those are good suggestions (and 2 of 3 are customers of mine) you can also add Cambridge Collision to the list, they're right over by Lares Corp in Cambridge.
