Winter beaters

Been on a bit of a "Suburban Rescue"

My OCD kicked in and I ended up with  six (6) Suburbans.

Years are 2003-2005.

One is already on the parts program.

My two for sure "keepers" are a pair of white 2003 LT models, one 3/4 ton 8.1 4X4 and one two wheel drive that needs tranny. Both are rock solid California or Arizona trucks.

I will probably keep one of the other rusty local units for my own winter beater.

All of my beater, parts units run, have some engine codes, one had a building fall on it, needs 1/4 glass.

I will be harvesting some interior parts, running boards, flares etc.

If you are looking for something to drive this winter with working 4WD this may be your opportunity.

Most expensive is probably $2500.00 pricing goes down from there, will to rob pieces to solve most glass or mechanical issues.

Will post pictures tomorrow.

Karl

Black one parting out keeping interior, engine, trans, misc. parts.

Picture 2 on  trailer, rock solid 2wd, needs trans, keeping truck.

Pictures 3-5 three white ones, Belzer rusty one, probably keeping.

Other 2 part, sell complete, don't care. Keeping flare set, wheels and tires off the one in the foreground, wheels and tires on the Z-71 will go on that if sold.

Middle one from Iowa, left one from northern Minnesota, Belzer one was local.

Will also be mixing and matching some interior parts.

Busy first 1/4 of 2020,

Now have 10 Burbs.
One is a gutted GMC from Washington state, dry truck-for parts.
Black z-71 now stripped, was going to use motor but all full of sludge, junk.
Northern Minnesota and Iowa burb also on parts program
Another 2005 3/4 ton with a cast iron 6.0 on parts program too.

White 2wd now has new carpet, refreshed leather interior, radio, fresh transmission, front lamps, jewelry.
Added soundeadener and floor padding.
R/f fender door, roof fixed and painted.
Dealing with antilock brakes, front steering and suspension.
Wheels and tires from another one.
Should be pretty much done this week.

Big block 8.1 liter, hood, tailgate, r/doors, body and paint done.
Working on freshening interior.
Have nice one from parted z-71.
Not sure on carpet yet may clean or replace.

Spendy part: have spare 8.1, sending out to rebuild locally, TSI will hug 4l85e tranny, transfer case etc.
Probably will pull body off frame set on the GMC frame for drivetrain service.
Detail, freshen, 8.1 frame, rustproof etc.
It will be my permanent replacement for the other rusty 3/4 ton Burb hauler I sold to one of my Technicians.
Hope to have done by fall, just in time to park for winter.cenuniv

All that said I have 5 on the parts program, three winter beaters.

Like I need all these, but it is fun.

Mitch, I have been behaving myself on 56 cars since I rescued the one in Iowa.

Remember, "it is all about the hunt"
