I watched a little last night on the DVR so that I could fast forward through the commercials and the cars that don't interest me, but didn't see anything too out of line other than the '68 Ford Econoline van made out to be the Scooby Doo Mystery Machine that sold for over $50K that I thought was a little crazy money.  I'll probably DVR through a few more tonight.

Looks like prices are going up, $100,000 for a 70 with a 454.

I spent the day at Barrett Jackson today. I did not seeing any major swings in prices up or down. I think year to year you see more or less really nice cars or driver grade cars which affects the balance one way or the other. I see the collector grade bringing good money and the driver grade bringing average money. There was one collection of a guy from Nebraska that was sold and every one of his cars were what I would call a 100 point car and brought the prices they deserved. If you only watched those sales you would think BJ was crazier than ever. If you watched the mid day cars today you would probably think prices were down. What I did see in the tents were an unusual amount of more modern day Bentlyeys and Ferraris and other exotic type cars.

That's a good point Jon that only the 'prime time' cars are shown on TV, so it might seem that prices are up to a lot of people.  That's why my favorite ones to watch are early in the week.  The circus that is BJ just gets wound up to a frenzy by Sat.

Looks like the resto mod chevelles did quite good.  Seems upgraded suspension, power disc brakes, fancy wheels, on an origional BB cars did quite well. Two of the best an origional  70 and a 66 , both converts went for 110kand 50k.  Not as well as the 255k an 165k chevelles last year.  I would have payed 50k all day for that 66.  Seemed some buyers were buying multiple cars, a guy by the name of Angelo for one Bought  half a dozen or more chevelles.

Here is a link to all the chevelles and prices through the end of Thursday

I was able to watch the selling of all the cars when streaming live on my iPad or computer.

Just type in the word Chevelle in the search box.

I can think of five people that I know that are at BJ this year.  I went in 2016, and said I didn't have any desire to go back after checking it off my bucket list, but now that it's been a couple of years I may have to think about it again.  headscratch

Especially now that we're getting thrown back in the deep freeze this weekend.   70's in AZ sound pretty good right now.

I would go to Russo and Steele in Scottsdale this weekend before BJ.

OR, Amelia Island in FL March 6th-8th. It runs concurrent with the Concours d"Elegance show. That would be fun to see all those prewar cars.

If you want to see some of the high end cars, it was a collection of Bryan Frank from Scottsbluff, Nebraska. They were as factory new as they come and the sale price reflected their condition.
