Registration is out there for 2019!

LINK TO 2019 SMN'S

Early registration is $50 then $65.  I think it used to be $45 early registration?

I've gotten stronger interest from a few of the Mid-America Chevelle Club guys to come up for this one now that my friend Brian brought his '66 SS Chevelle up this year.  There could be 3-4 cars from Kansas City coming if we have parking room for them.  Hopefully nobody minds if they park with us.  One of them has a GMC Sprint.  thumbsup  I'll know more who's coming up when we get closer.

Great news on the Chevy guys from down south. The in-laws have a Lake House in Missouri and we often see really nice rides down there. Like always, I already have the weekend blocked off and am looking forward to it.

I got mine. Does that mean I should finish my car by then? Or at least make it driveable?

Think I will save the $10 for now for the build and see how it looks at the next deadline.

Larry it looks like you are very close to driveable already. Done,.. are they ever?

Glad to see they have the Street Machine Challenge on the registration early this year. I wasn't sure what to put for horsepower or engine size though. Might be 325", might be 383" or might be 419". RWHP might be 265, 450, or 550... and power adder is "no" (for now). It all depends on the budget.

Anyway, I paid my $143.50 :)

Just registered today $50 changes to $65 the week of the event.  I assume we are having a meeting on Saturday, yes/no?  Anyone entered in the events?

I registered last week.

I’m running the road course Friday at 2:00. They say only one time slot per person for the weekend. Last year the slots were not full on Sunday so I ran twice, not sure if they will allow that that this year or not.

Dang, I won't be there on Friday. I didn't register this year. I'll see if they found a different way to deal with the Larpenteur disaster of last year, but I have my doubts.

I'll be there on Sat as a spectator for the meeting.

Derek, you trailering this year...razz..laughing

I plan to be there in my Malibu. If it is too hot and humid, I won't last long.

I'm registered, last minute as usual....

I'll be there Friday, though probably have to pick up credentials that morning so I'll be @9-10. Saturday is out, but should be there Sunday all day.

Looks like we are in for Friday. I have been on the injured reserve after having a total hip replacement two and a half weeks ago. Recovery has been good so I hope I can get back into action. We will be in Wisconsin all day Thursday so I can't help with reserving parking this year but plan on returning early enough to pick up credentials late Thursday. Hank let me know there is a group meeting in the north metro Friday morning and if all goes well Thursday we will join in for the caravan.

Does anyone know where the club pop up tent is, and can we get it to the fairgrounds Thursday and padlock it to the power pole again?

Or, does anyone plan on bringing theirs and we can loop them together?

It's going to be Minnesota HOT on Friday and Saturday, so we're going to want some shade besides what comes from the trees until mid day!

I have the club pop-up tent, along with the sandwich boards and other club stuff. I was planning on bring my, since it is easier to move around. I was also planning on bring a fan, since we have electric right there. Coolers with water will also be provided.

I registered last minute too Bryan.

Chevelle developed a bit of a wobble Sunday to and from a local show.  My drivers front tire was a bit low so filled it up Sunday after I got home from show.  Had the tire checked at local tire shop as it seemed to have lost a bit more air and figured a slow leak possibly.  They could not find an issue and on way home it was still feeling weird and maybe getting worse.   Talked to Chris P about going to the show and mentioned the car acting up.  He had me run over and checked it out.  Turns out the 20?year old tires finally went bad.  Not sure if you can tell but if you look at the pictures you can see that the passenger front tire had a cord come loose.  Easier to see on the bottom right of the two stacked tires.  Thanks to Pittstop Performance I’ll still be able to bring a cooler full of ice cold water.

Sorry to hear that Mike.  Tires over 5 years old are the bane of collector cars.  They can still have 100% tread and still be unsafe to drive as the rubber ages.

I'm not clear from your comment about the ice cooler.  Does that mean you're not bringing the Chevelle?  You have PLENTY of time to slap a new set of tires on her!  stirpot

Cooler will be in the trunk of my Chevelle.  A certain 66 Chevelle 300 donated it‘s shoes for the weekend!

Thanks again Chris P!!!

I will be shopping for new wheels and tires at the show!

Stan you ready for a new set yet?   I know we need to keep your car evolving so it doesn’t  get sold and I’m leaning towards the same wheels as you and Bryan. razz

I do believe the Chevelle gods are angry at me for some odd reason every year at this time.

So I think the cause with the overheating all along was the temp circuit breaker was bad. I had checked the two fuses and those were good.

I will replace the plugs tonight.

It was was running 40 times in the last month.

I'll keep trying again tonight as i may have flooded it

I'm here now will be here for the meeting might come back this afternoon weather depending but plan to be here most of the day tomorrow

Since I didn't make it down yesterday believe me there was one other person at registration pretty light

For the life of me I will never understand the lack of coordination... shutting down all of Larpenteur to one lane there's no road work occurring.
