I'm hoping to go if I can get out of CAC again (new distributor gear install and valve cover gasket replacement).

I pulled the disty to have it tuned since idle quality in gear is pretty rough, and noticed when looking at the gear it's already wearing after only the dyno's and a couple hundred miles of use.  Probably soft 'oriental' metal.  The distributor shop said to replace it with a hardened one as they see quite a few failures of the imported disty drive gears, so I don't get it until Fri.

Well, that stinks that you're already having so many issues with a new engine build.
I'm surprised the distributor shop didn't have a gear to throw on while it was there.
Maybe you should've bought the gear on Amazon. I bought a bottle of aluminum polish on Saturday morning, figuring it would be here this week...no hurry on my part. Nope 2 days is 2 days and someone in a postal truck delivered it yesterday, on a National holiday...wonder how much it cost to have that $15 bottle of polish delivered ???!!!

Stan I have some very good used original dist gears if you want. As I recall you do have a flat tappet cam?

Sorry to derail this with my distributor woes.  I moved to the engine build project post.

Sounds good Hank.  I'm planning on it.  We can pick a meet up place before Sunday.

Anyone else going?

Looks like the weather may be good that day. I'm considering going to the swap meet and try to unload some more "stuff' I don't need.

Rachael and I plan to visit the swap and check out the show.  Will drive the equinox.

Looking for the rear brace on a A6 compressor for a 68 and down Big Block.  It is a rod  about 3/8" in diameter, eyes on both ends, slotted on one end , and about 8" long with a couple of curves.  Bob or anyone else  if you see one pick it up or call me 850-240-3405 as I'll be at the swap meet or show.

I am planning on going. I can't think of anything I need, but will probably spend hours at the swap meet anyway.

I will be Fleet Farm! Looking forward to the show and the Swap...Seem like the show in past years has gotten smaller though. Maybe the weather will bring more out. Gonna bring some cash though as in the past Stan got some great deals...

Doesn't say you can register the day of the show, But I assume that is OK; anyone know different?

Yes you can register the day of the show. If I recall, they will collect the money when you drive in. I did the show about 2 years ago, at the last minute and that is how they did it.

Stan. I read it again. I thought it was a Fleet Farm in St Paul. Can I meet you guys at the McDonalds at the North end of the strop where we have met others for Car Craft? It’s about a mile north of the fairgrounds. Driving all the way to Lino Lakes is a long haul for me just to double back down. Maybe meet about 8:00am?

I wondered about that, and thought it was a long way out of your way.

I'm guessing we'll be at the fairgrounds around 7:30 a.m. ish, so will miss you.  I'll text you where we end up parking and will try to save you a spot.

Note the entrance to the show is at Larpenteur Ave. and Underwood.
