Warning to all...

Keep a very close eye on your credit card statements/activity and your bank accounts this time of year!

Just got a call from one of my cards, somebody had changed my address, phone number, and tried to charge nearly $900 worth of stuff.

All they needed is your DOB and last 4 of your Social to do this by phone. CALL YOUR CREDIT CARD COMPANIES and request (demand) they put a verbal password on your account. If the person calling doesn't know the secret (verbal) word they won't talk to the caller.

(I had my info stolen via payroll 2 years ago, and it's still out there...)

Wife got a call from Target last week, someone was trying to use her number for purchases at a Verizon store, location unknown. We don't know if it is still from the Target fiasco a while ago or the new Equifax mess, but this is the second time in 2 years she has had to get a new Target card.

Actually Dave. I did have my debit card number stolen earlier this year and they spent a few hundred bucks. I contacted the CC company and they went through their typical protocol still and I was reimbursed that money. That said, I still agree though, I'm a bit more weary to use that card anymore because had it been a lot more then that, who knows if I would have ever seen that money again.
