Hi everyone,

I got an email from a gentleman who stumbled on a 1983 El Camino in a backyard and was wondering if it is worth restoring.

I told him that is a tough question to answer without seeing the car, but that I'd post it here in case someone had words of wisdom for him.

Any help you may have would be appreciated.

Thanks

I emailed with him yesterday a couple times. He does not want the car himself and was wondering if someone in the club wanted it. I told him kind of doubtful and gave him a link from Craigslist of a person looking for parts cars.

If anyone does have an interest let us know and we can get you his contact info.

If the car is too rusted out. They arent really worth restoring due to there are a ton of clean 78-87 El Caminos out there for sale. See if he can get any photos.

IF it's one of the limited, special edition models below....MAYBE it's worth restoring but only if it isn't rusted to dust. There isn't much room before going upside down.

1983 included the El Camino Pickup Delivery, Super Sport Pickup Delivery, Conquista Pickup Delivery, Royal Knight Pickup Delivery, and Choo Choo Custom Pickup Delivery, and the GMC Caballero Pickup Delivery and the Amarillo Pickup Delivery.
