17" ZR1 Style Wheels & Tires SOLD

Set of 17" polished aluminum ZR1 replica wheels, tires, and billet aluminum wheel adapters.  Wheels are 17x11 rear and 17x9.5 front.  Tires are 315/35 rear and 275/40 front.  Wheel adapters are 1" thick.  Direct bolt on for '68-'72 A-Body cars using the included wheel adapters. 

$495.00.

I wish the BFG g-force Rival S or Bridgestone RE-71R were available in sizes to fit them!

This is a great cheap way to get BIG rubber on a Chevelle, but all the GOOD big rubber is 18"+ now.

Gearlube... to get that rubber under a '65 I'd have to do frame-notching/back-half then tubs!! (wheelwell/frame clearance is tiny!)

Forgot about the extra set of rears with BFG Drag Radials mounted on them. :)))

These have a very nice polish on them. Even the barrels are polished.

Buy all six for a screaming deal!!

And the final result... they fit on a '72 convertible! 

I think they really fill out the wheel wells and give it a meaner look.  It handles good, and is a little twitchier on the road because there is more rubber to work with, otherwise it still rides good though.  I only had to move the drivers side tailpipe a little to clear the inside of the tire, otherwise it was a straight bolt on.

Thanks to Steve S. for doing some trial fitting for me from afar, and thanks Keith that this worked out!  beers

One other note... make sure and do a through QA check over on a frame off restoration, or any mods you do... as I found the upper control arm bolts were loose since I hadn't gone back and re-torqued them after the first few hundred miles... clonk  We've got a long Fall cruise coming up, so I will be spending some time re-torqueing everything!

Looks very mean Stan. So now the snowball of the rear disc brakes and bigger front disc brakes. The Wilwood calipers that are going on Mikes car are a direct replacement for what you have. They come in red if you want them to stand out. You can goggle wildwood D52 calipers if you want to read about them.

Yeah Chris P., thought's of rear disk brakes have been in my mind lately too...  That Wilwood caliper upgrade looks good, of course then thoughts of upgrading the rotor size kick in, and the snowball gets bigger!

Mike, I was skeptical that they would fit in the rear, but Keith had everything already engineered out.  I had Steve S. mock up one of the rear tires on his '72 coupe to make sure there weren't any differences with the Elky, and they are the same.  There certainly is a lot of rubber back there, and thanks to Chris P. that torquey little SBC even makes all that rubber turn into smoke (I tested it to make sure this morning)!  gearbanger

 That is going to be my go to cam from now on. I drove the 55 over the weekend and I love the low end pull that it has and is just a nice all around cam with good manners.
