I found where all the Chevelles and parts go to car heaven today...

We had a club garage tour and cruise today, and I found the meca of all Chevelledom (along with a couple of Camaro's and a GTO thrown in for good measure).  One of the members has a HUGE has to be 100X100 building with his 'collection' in it that we got a chance to see today.

The locals told me today's viewing was about 50% of what it used to be, and there used to only be narrow paths through all the parts and cars.  Bit of a sad story, that a couple of the members have been helping the owner, as he has early on-set Alzheimer's, so they are helping him purge/organize, and sell some of the cars.

I was also told he has 6 more finished Chevelle's in his own personal garage besides what you see in the pics.  His deal is all about the hunt of the car and parts, then the restorations.  Then they just sit...  never driven after that.  The cranberry red '70 SS you see in the pic had an almost flat front tire from sitting so long, which is really a shame.  I need to talk him into letting me 'exercise' them once in while!

He had some rare stuff, and ALL the cars are manual shift cars.  Even if they were auto's when he bought them.  Check out the log pile of Muncies.  The guys told me there were even more up in the mezanine's.  And they said there were 12 SS dashes up there as well!  And, check out all the big blocks.  He had so many, that some of them were wrapped in plastic and had note cards on them with which cars they go to!

Tina went with me, and at least it made me look like a mini hoarder compared to even one corner of the building!

Enjoy...

Chris P.-You'll appreciate this '72 vert with a 502 and mini-super charger that was chassis dyno'd at 500+ HP at the rear wheels!  With a 5 speed.

That would have been very cool to tour. Looks like he likes the 70-72 vintage cars? Yes the big block with the underhood blower is cool!

Yeah, pretty much '69-72 seemed to be his sweet spot.

How does one get in on the sale of parts ? Are you going to be informed ?

John, that bought the Yellow Malibu, is interested in a '72 SS dash. Long way to drive but we could "probably" find other goodies.

Im guessing you would probably have to get in line behind the 100's of locals also looking to get thier hands on the parts too.

My understanding is nothing for sale currently other than a few of his friends have taken a couple off his hands, as well as some of the parts are going to guys he knows to help their restorations.  At some point, he may sell publicly, but right now it's private only.
