Historic Hastings Car Show Club of the Night

I talked to one of the car show guys today and was told there are three nights available for NSCC to be the club of the night. The only duty for the club is to maintain the west gate (near the new bridge) from mid afternoon until the show ends. They will provide a designated parking area for club cars. The old bank is closed and up for sale so the area for parking is to be determined but they will provide an area for us. I will attach a poll and ask for quick responses as the dates are going fast if we want one. I said we would get back to them by the end of the week with our choice.

The dates are August 8th...September 5th...October 3rd.  Think of weather, family functions, holidays, etc and let me know your thoughts.

If we DON'T want to do this for some reason let me know and I will not pursue it any further.

The Hastings show is always a favorite and would be a good opportunity for a quick business meeting should we need to.

Sounds like a good idea to combine the show with a monthly meeting.

will need to check the dates

Very interesting, 78 views, 5 votes and one reply. Let's table this for now, we can discuss it at the meeting Saturday. I will put the Hasting folks on hold for a week. Just doesn't seem to me much interest and I don't want to commit the club to something no one is going to show for.

Maybe a lot of people have no preference. Possibly add an option to indicate as such.

Too far out to plan yet, BUT August looks good on my calendar and nothing I want to go to on Autoswalk.

September could work too. October gets iffy for weather.

A second look at the calendar shows September 5th is on Labor Day weekend, maybe a lot of family stuff going on. I agree with the weather issue in October. Probably August is best bet, just need commitment so we don't look bad if only a couple show up.

Was not sure how to actually vote, but the 8th of Aug looks like the one we would prefer

There should be 3 "buttons" select the one you want and click the mouse on it. If you don't see the choices and buttons, maybe you already voted and forgot...laughing  All I see, now that I voted, is the results.

Hmm...I know I did not vote and it is not allowing me to make any selections either? Wonder if the Webmaster needs to check some settings?

Checked the original post, and the "attach poll" box was unchecked... wierd, as there were already votes cast.

I edited it, and now voting is available, but anything previous was lost.

Re-vote everyone - there were "chads" involved cuckoo

Looks like it is what it is. Just post a quick note as to your preference and we can count them up.

Good to know it was not just me having the problem. 8/8 should work.

We are confirmed for August 8th for club of the night. Hastings is always a good show and I encourage as many members as possible to put the date on their calendar. We need to man the gate from about 4:30 until 9:00. I will update information later this summer regarding parking, etc.
