Member Karl (Crystal Lake Automotive) has a problem, and needs our help!!

He's got a couple of old Biscaynes/Impalas that just won't fit into the recycle bin.

Date - Saturday 13th

Time - 9am

Place - Crystal Lake Automotive, Burnsville

What to bring: Gloves, Safety Glasses, Sawzalls & Blades

Lunch is TBD... (Thoughts are the Club will provide the main course, and then a potluck?... ideas appreciated!)

I think he wants to save some of the bigger panels for future use, so doesn't want to just give the whole car away...dunno

Besides, there's a lot of people who have never torn down and cut up a car before and were curious about this at the last meeting.

Gonna be 2 months (May and June) of dirty fun, like I don't get enough of that around here...laughing

We are calling it the "Cars Apart Club Club"

Have a 68 Impala Custom 2 Dr. Her name is "Harriet"
She came from Virginia.
327 Auto, A/C Full gauge tach dash and 10 bolt posi.
Want to separate body, and place frame and driveline under the Bel Air shell we stole the frame from for Biskwik.
It does have a lot of good jewelry and misc. stuff.
Car is complete.
Quarter panels, front Fenders are junk, Hood and Trunk are suspect too.
Doors are decent, if I recall correctly.
Back glass fell out somewhere in Iowa on the trip home.
It can be a great demo project for Trim and upholstery removal.

Notion is many hands make light work.
We always seem to have 8-10 Guys that want to play and get dirty.
Bring your own Food, Beverage, Personal Safety Equipment.
I do have some eye protection.

Will post picture tomorrow.

Note Typo on front Page This is the JUNE event

Karl

This will be a Coordinated Disassembly.
I do actually have a plan.

Will start at 9:00, should wrap up by 12-1:00

The club will provide pulled pork for lunch, but we ask that you bring a dish to pass (i.e. pasta salad, potato salad, beans, cookies, brownies, chips, etc.).  The club will also provide pop and water.

I spoke with Karl. He has a lot of work lined up for us, some of which will require getting dirty, and some that is more supervisory based.  There will be something for everyone to do and see.

Please post on this thread if you plan to attend and what you are bringing so we don’t end up with a dozen bags of chips.

Hope to see you on the 13th!

Thanks, Karl, for this great opportunity.

We should probably get this squared off on who is bringing what. So far only 3 people have commited to bringing something. Who else is coming to the meeting?

Here's what we have so far:

  • Pop and water
  • Pulled pork and buns
  • Potato salad
  • Pasta salad
  • Chips?
  • Cheese ball and crackers
  • Fresh fruit
  • Cake

Steven, we don't have an overabundance of any particular thing, so whatever you guys want to bring is fine.

Looking forward to tomorrow!

Chris S.
