What is the price of gas up there? I gassed up today for $2.75 per gallon. Anyone understand why gas prices have dropped over 25% in six months?

I paid $3.19 just yesterday, but saw $3.09 today.  Oil is $80/barrel, which is low due to a surplus situation and all the domestic oil production which is a good thing. Less dependence on foreign oil.  Winter fuel is also less expensive due to less refining being needed for winter emissions.

I think you guys in Minnesota get hammered with taxes. It has been 2.73-2.85 for a good month down here.

I saw 2.85 at Sams club as I passed by this morning.

It's been $3 or less at most of last month up here on the north side.

South side hasn't dipped below $3.00 other than once when I paid $2.98, then it jumped 0.15 the next day...

I saw 2.89 for one day down here about a week ago. Filled up at $3.08 yesterday.

Gas is always higher in the South and East metro areas. Apparently we have money falling out our butts and can afford to pay more than the rest of the metro.

You're right Stan, I saw 2.89 for a couple days last week and it shot right back up to 3.19 and has stayed above 3.00 since then.

I bought gas at Sam's last week for 2.83.

For what it's worth, I paid, on average, 3.25-3.39 for gas in Montana. I can see where the transport costs would be much higher in the mountains. I would have to have a suction hose from the tanker to the truck to go very far climbing those grades.

It always seems to drop around election time.

Its only a matter of time before some excuse by the oil companies pops up to drive the prices back up again.

Heard on the news gas in Toledo was going for $1.57. I'm liking it.

Just paid $1.90 9/10 at Fleet Farm with my 4 cents off coupon, lets enjoy it while it lasts!
May be thy could make this the year to get rid of the 9/10ths? may have been relevant at 25.9 cents, but not so much these days.

The 9/10ths hasn't been relative for decades. It initially represented the amount of taxes to keep the profit at a round cent, but the taxes have escalated exponentially since and I don't know if they come out to an even 10th anymore. I've said for many years that it is a stupid marketing tool to "fool" people into thinking they are paying a penny less. Very similar to the pricing of other goods ending in 99 cents. The store can advertise a product as costing less than a hundred dollars if it is $99.99...rolleyes

Got you all beat... paid $1.19 and 9/10 when filling up.  Of course, the $0.90/gallon off from the Cub card savings didn't hurt either.  razz

Since my work commute doesn't go past any gas stations, I didn't realize it was under $2.00 here already. It was $2.11 last time I filled up on Tuesday.

$1.67 here today.
I have two fears.
Some *&^*^%# is going to feel free while the price is down to raise the fuel road tax.
When the price does go back up, it will go up very quickly.
But we will enjoy it while we can.

Old friend of mine from HS paid .97 cents per gallon at some station up in Alexandria. Even posted a pic of his receipt on Facebook to prove it.

They're already working on it.  They're salivating at the thought of implementing another new tax or increasing existing ones.

Just hit $1.99 here in Mankato today. I guess we're behind everyone else.

I also heard on the radio about the Government @#$%'s talking about raising the gas tax. They'll slip it in quick while the price is low so most people won't notice or care.
