While at the meeting yesterday, the shop had a '72 Honda Trail 90 sitting there that they were replacing the carb for a customer. Standing there reliving memories about riding one of these that belonged to a friend in junior high with Steve S. and John E., I looked on CL and low and behold there are a couple of cool ones for sale. I thought maybe this would bring back some good memories for others that had the Honda experience back in the day:
Hmmm........seems I've had a "thing" for 1966 vehicles for a while now....
Mitch,
I believe that is a 55cc machine. I had a twin to it in red. I do have a photo of me on it but if you can imagine someone 6'4" on that bike you'll understand why I won't post it.

These things are getting crazy popular. I've got some pals on the West Coast who are collecting them now, and there's talk of clubs and meets etc. These early Trail bikes, along with early mini bikes, are exploding out there.
I'm Currently working on the resurrection a 1964 Honda CT200 (trail 90) with the help of a parts bike. its a "deer hunter" version with a gun rack on the front. plan is to add it as an accessory to my 1959 wagon rear bumper
Picture is at the garage sale where i where i purchased it. I'm now in the "BAC" in a major way...

Why am I not surprised by this Bruce? Seems like the love of bikes is a common thread with car guys. I'm a 'fringe' bike lover because when I was growing up I knew better than to even utter the 'B' word or 'motorcycle' to my parents for fear of getting banished to the basement for months since they were very practical people... Of course I had friends that had them, so that's how I got my fix.
That will look cool on the wagon, and you've coined a new forum acronym with 'Bike's Apart Club' (BAC)!

yep, i see something that "could" be fixed and think why not? started out building Go-Karts and Mini-Bikes (3 of each) before i could get a car (at 14)
no doubt i will be close to the point on cost where i could have just purchased a running one, but for me it like big puzzle.
glad that the BAC was easy to get, i found a parts bike that should provide most of what is needed.
