Just registered tonight. Looks like I have to present my drivers license and sign for my credentials. Never having done this before, what is the procedure? Is it best to just get them when entering? I don't live near the Fairgrounds; but down south of Red Wing.
Is it possible to just show up Friday or Saturday to get the credentials? Just where do you get the credentials? Having never done this before, I am kind of out of step. I may only bring the car up one or two days.
Anyone else driving up on Friday or Saturday from the South. I thought there was some kind of a drive to the FG from someplace in Egan. Seems there was much more detailed information on this last year.
Yes, just show up Friday morning and pick up your credentials on the way in. You'll see the trailer and/or someone will point you in the right direction.
We'll be driving up Saturday morning from Rochester. We're bringing the non-Chevy though so I'll be looking elsewhere for a place to park it.

Does this mean you will be competing ??
You're still in the club. They can use you to anchor the far end...
I seem to think you also need an insurance card, but I could be wrong on that.
When you go to pick up credentials, you'll go through the show car entrance with everyone, then there will be a trailer off to the side. You can ask anyone directing people where you need to go. There will be a point where you can't go past without the window decal anyway. It will go pretty quick since most pick up on Thursday.

do you enter on como from snelling or come in from the west? Do you just follow the traffic to get to the parking area or just snake your way though? I thought I saw a path to follow last year.
Enter off Como, most come from the East to turn right, but you can come down Como either way. You will go straight and follow the flagmen. There will be a turn off to go towards the fairgrounds interior, and that's the point where the registration is set up. Each flagman from a certain point is verifying car decal AND wristband (get with credentials) for passengers before you enter.

No, not competing. This will be the first time in a very long time we only do one day of the show. Just can't swing all three this year. :(

They don't ask to see an insurance card. Just a driver's license.

Yes, I was thinking it might be an easy way in; but since I didn't register with QA, I don't think it will work, thanks.
Chad and I did the QA1 thing a couple of years ago, and the tour was cool, but honestly the cruise to the fair grounds was a disaster. There weren't any lead cars, and everyone was split up with a couple of miles of leaving Lakeville. So, there wasn't much benefit to the cruise. I don't think I will ever do it again, as you also arrive after 9 a.m., and a lot of our club spots are taken by then.
I come into the fairgrounds from the south via 35E to Ayd Mill Road, to Snelling, then Snelling to Como and you will see signs for 'Participants' after turning West on Como. Stay in the right (North lane), and just follow the signs to 'Registration', then you will see how to get into the Participants gate.

I agree with the cruise chaos. Aside from the fact that QA1 is the opposite side of town from me I've found that it takes a lot to have a cruise that keeps the group together (even somewhat) and the distance they cover makes it really tough. You need intersection blockers/guards to keep everyone together, a well written map and directions, directional signs, and then you have to consider that the drivers may still need to make a pitstop or have another thought on something and go their own way.
