Price seems high unless there's a way to prove it was an L79 car.

The clear title is worth something but I agree. Seems $1500-2500 for a gutted roller would be more in line, depending on how rusty it is.

It would be fun to see it if they drag it down to the May 4th swap meet....thumbsup

I don't know much about '68's ,so I had to see what a roll up tach was and found this. Was this a 68 only thing?

Yes, I had a '68 SS in '72 with the roll up tach. It's rather small and hard to read when pounding thru the gears.

I'm guessing 3 grand cash would take it.  Does seem high though.  I'd go $2500, but I don't have anywhere to store it until I got to working on it unless I got rid of the pool table in the man cave...

I've actually seen a couple of '68's with the rolling tach in the dash and it's pretty cool, but like Mitch said it wouldn't be functional trying to read it when rowing through the gears.  gearbanger

The frame would need to be good to be worth that $2500 to me. All the control arms would need removed and bushed, so at that point, it may as well become a frame off to blast and powder the frame and all suspension pieces before starting on the body.

If you wanted correct buckets, the '68 seats are hard to find and can be expensive even as cores. They are NOT the same as '69 -72. The release button is on the side, like a '67.

With no engine/trans, it WOULD be a good candidate for an LS upgrade...cool

I actually have 68 buckets in my 66. Those roll up tachs were 68 only and are worth good money actually when you can find one individually.

Now Mitch I've seen pictures of your frame work you could fix about anything.

No more cars for me for a while until I sell the 69 and finish the 70.

Besides I have lake homes on my mind now. That could become a real money pit.
