They are very narrow with very little suspension compared to new sleds.  90 would be fast, and probably feel really fast.  I did a little research on this one.  There was a 300cc and 400cc racing class.  The El Tigre was made in a 295,340,400 and 440cc. The 295 (this one) and 400 were call "track tuned" to fit the stock classes and the 340 and 440 were "trail tuned".  

 Here's proof, it was fast and if you smoke girls will like you:laughing

Not a Chevelle, but it's kind of dead in here so I thought I'd post my new Project.

1974 Arctic Cat El Tigre.  It was in my sister's barn and hasn't run in 15 years.  It's actually in pretty nice shape after I washed all the bird crap off it.  Fuel lines are all rotted away, but the tank appears rust free.  I grew up riding a 1972 Panther so I'll see if this one rides as bad as I remember,  if I can get it running.

Wow, I remember those. A guy I worked with back in the day, like the early 80's, had one and was always porting on the head and doing this and that trying to make it go faster. Pretty sure I remember him saying he was clocked in the 90's. I have no idea if that's fast for that machine.

 To be clocked in the next decade has to be extremely fast, even today! laughing

Man I feel so old to say I remember when Marv Jorgenson was the fastest guy around clocked at 110 on the lake during radar runs. He was running the boat engines on the sled in the winter later.
