Didn't lose any trees, a few more large branches though (in addition to the ones from Thursday night).

Power has been out nearly 12 hours / 8pm last night. John Jr said the power was cut off from Minnetonka Blvd going north (about a mile to us), and who knows how much further north. Looks like we'll be doing "camp breakfast" or going out!

Lost a 30 ft Tamarack in the back yard and been on generator power since 8 pm last night too. Can't live without water and with a well, a generator is a necessity here.

Got 3 1/2 inches of rain in 20 minutes and the ditch out front went over my shop driveway and washed it out some AGAIN. This happened twice 2 years ago and I raised the drive 18 inches then. Nothing could've handled the volume last night. The gutters overflowed and looked like a 30 ft waterfall over the edge...angry

I have a new pond on the north side of the yard as of this morning, complete with a mallard duck staking out it's territory.

We lost another tree in the back yard, an hour after the storm had passed through it just fell over. About an hour after that my neighbor was out surveying the damage when a huge limb fell from a tree and landed right next to him, 30 inches to the right and it could have been……………..

Note to self, the storm is not over until it’s over, perhaps several hours latter. The ground is now so saturated it doesn’t take much wind to knock trees over.

John, Is the copula still standing strong?

The cupola is just fine. Not a scratch.

Power came back on at 4:55... just about when the upstairs freezer hit "flash point" and stuff started to melt. Didn't have to toss any food/meat - got lucky.

Things were getting a little tense around here - my daughter's boyfriend arrives from Ecuador tomorrow at 9am! whew

For once we didnt loose power at all here. We used to be the first one to go. One time, Excell came out in the middle of the night last summer because we lost power, and it wasnt even a storm at all, it was hot though and everyone had thier AC on. Transformer blew, they came and within a half hour or so after they left. it blew again. This year, they installed new cable in the ground which must have helped, some of the barracades are still up since they havent finished fixing the sidewalks yet.

My parents in St Louis Park said they were out of power as well.

I had a couple leaves to pick up........... I did listen to the police/fire radio scanner for Anoka County and got to hear all the situations around. There was a backlog of trees and branches on fire, what roads were flooded, plus one cable was burning the asphalt somewhere.
