Sat. June 15, 2013 Location Ideas?

In the club meeting yesterday, we talked about needing a location for the June meeting on Sat., June 15th.  We are open to any ideas/locations if anyone has ideas.

Looking for someplace that could handle 25 people, lunch at or nearby, and decent parking. Somewhere central metro would be great as we know we've had quite a few southern locations lately.

Keep in mind that BTF's is the weekend after that.

Ideas?  C'mon, I know they are out there!  thumbsup

All Y'all can come over here, sit around, BS, order pizza if ya want and then about 3-3:30 head to Hastings for the evening....dunno

No clue what I will have in the shop by then to work on/look at but there is NO shortage of projects around here.

I can fit 25 people in the shop but parking can get crowded. The Camaro Club guys don't like getting blocked in so many of them park on the side of the road and create a show of their own..cool

Stan, would you be interested in doing it in the Anoka, Coon Rapids, or Blaine area?  If interest in coming this far north I could find us a place and then if people wanted to hand around in the area Anoka has their car shows on Saturdays too??  Let me know I'd be happy to try and find a spot for us.

Thanks Dave.

We've been known to have meetings in that area in the past, so any ideas you have are welcome!

I might be tied up that weekend, but I will be finding out in the next day or 2. If I'm available, we could use my place for the meeting and cruise over to Anoka afterwards. It's only about 2-3 miles away and a straight shot now.

I like all 3 ideas. I also like the idea of going to a cruise/show after, if the meeting is later. Im just not able to commit to anything right now due to the baseball and softball tournaments. If they win both kids will go all weekend.

We have had meetings at the Anoka car show before. We could always do that again.

Yes, Hastings starts June 1st, so the 15th would work.

Mitch has already offered to have it at his place then cruise to Hastings per his post on this thread.

Mitch-Is that a solid offer?  If so, sounds like we have a plan.

Members-You should have received an email on the details for the meeting at Mitch's, then cruise to Hastings.

Thanks Mitch for stepping up and hosting the meeting!  beers

VP Tom/Gearlube will be running the meeting as I will be in the man cave reassembling the vert.  Sorry, you guys are great... but after being paroled from paint jail, I need to get to cracking on this to make it for Car Craft!

As of now, just a place to gather for the meeting, order in pizza for lunch and then B.S. until we leave for Hastings (weather permitting).

Any ideas for a demo ???

Well, I stumbled onto a tech project for us to look at. A friend of a friend has a '70 SS and his 4 speed has issues. He is bringing it over
Saturday to have me/us look at it and see if I can get it repaired for him. We'll have to work on getting him to join the club...thumbsup

Anyone have membership forms with them, or should I print one off the site ??

I'm out now too... Stan, Kevin, and Bruce have the right idea. I have a car that I need to be working on. Going to have to miss out on some fun now if I want to drive my Chevelle before summer is over.

I missed the meeting due to the weather. Looks like you had a good day for a "car wash".

We had 4 club members present...Imgonna

The guy with the 4 speed came over and I was able to swap out a front bearing retainer from a trans I have to his and take care of his issue. He and his uncle have Chevelles but seemed hesitant to join a "club".

Mitch, thanks for hosting.  It's tough to have a meeting in June with so many graduation parties, scary weather, and others working on their cars.  Of course now that the front passed through, it's gorgeous outside...

We did make it to Hastings with the El Camino after the sky’s cleared. It was a little sparse because of wx but filled up by the time we left at 2000.

There is however, awful news to report from Hastings, far more serious than the IRS abuse of power or NSA monitoring of your every keystroke. A long standing NCC tradition has fallen by the wayside; the world famous Ice Cream Shoppe is gone. Replaced by a froufrou clothing boutique……..”I drove my Chevy to the levy but the levy was dry.”

Thats why we never really had a meeting in June. North St Paul was always our June event but there isnt really any time to conduct an any actual meeting. Plus MSRA is usually the 3rd weekend of June every year.

I would have gone, but I was out of town-camping in Owatonna. I know, risky with this year's weather, but it actually wasnt too bad. Bugs were light and it only rained Friday night....really hard, but it went away and I got a few hours sleep even. Then rain came back, so we drove to Iowa for a short road trip. Of course, toay was perfect.

Yea I didnt want to short change Mitch. It was actually kind of nice really, a small group of use just chilling out once we get the trans back together and shooting the sh&t in a nice shop. I enjoyed it.
