I have not seen the SS wheel in 9".  I want to keep the widere tire since I put in the bigger engine merely fo better hook up during normal driving.

Thanks for the link.

This is supposed to be 1 275x60x15 ona 15x8 rim, I like the look.

I am currently running 275 x 60 x 15 rear tires on 7 x 15 wheels.  As you can see on the attached photo the rear sidewalls really have to roll in to meet the wheels.  I am looking for a more straight look as on the front tires/wheels.  Will an 8" wheel get me to where I want to be?  Does anyone have a photo of a 275 tire on an 8" rim?

An 8" wheel will help but for a 275 you really could go with a 9". Are the SS wheels available in 9" ?

If you need new tires a 255x60 looks OK on a 7" and really nice on an 8". I have both 275 and 255 tires on 7" wheels and the 255 has noticably less sidewall deflection.

Here's a chart of section width and height for the T/A's to compare. When the window opens, click on "specs"

275/60/15. Is fine on an 8 " rim sidewall has no bulge. I run that combo on my 66 no need to roll fender edge but you need 4 or 4.5 back space wheel I run 9" wheel on my slicks but need 5" backspace to clear. Since a 69 has wider rear housing than 66 my guess would bea 4.5 BS 8" wheel is your best bet

Here you go Jon (I think this will fill it out nicely, and a 9" rim might be too much of the big n little look for you, but your call):

And here's the pic of what you like:

Thanks Stan, have you ever dealt with this company before?  Second, how did you save the link to a photo?   49771?AWSAccessKeyId=1XXJBWHKN0QBQS6TGPG2&Expires=1373760000&Signature=AE1TCQNgV0DuWhyDe7lUGtGN4I4%3D

Jon, I've not dealt with them, but have heard of them for this type of OE look rim, so they seem reputable, but would depend on the experience with them.  Maybe give them a call and see how their technical service holds up.

As far as the pic, when I clicked on the attachment link you attached in the original post, the pic came up on another window, and on the right side there is a block with 'Links to share this photo' and I clicked on the 'IMG' link and it automatically copied it.  Then I pasted that link into the post.  The link goes right to the picture when you either 'Show Preview' or 'Submit'.

Smoke and mirrors for us old guys. Thanks.

The section width of a 275 is 11' and tread is 9.75. The closer you match the tread and wheel width, the better the tire sits flat on the ground and has less sidewall bulge. Thier recommended wheel width is 7.5 minumum and 9.5 max. A 9" wheel is the ideal for that tire...dunno

My old rally rims that are on my pictures here were 15x8 inch rims with 275/60 tires.

I have Oscar's wheels on my car right now with my own 275/60R15 tires. I sent you an email with a pic of mine from the rear 1/4 angle.
