All I can do is laugh, because clearly, crying hasn't been any help. doh

I drove through a foot of snow 3/4 of the way to work, then had to back up a half mile because the SNOW PLOW was stuck in the middle of the road. Got to work, and only 1 of my 7 employees is here... 2 more called to say they're on the way, about 40 minutes ago.

How's those new tires work? Looks like it missed us, just a trace on the ground here.

Tires work great... could have made a lot more money today by skipping work and pulling 4x4s out of snowbanks for $10 a pull. headscratch

I'm hearing that we're at 14" here, and another possible 6" throughout the day.

It has snowed another 5" since I got to work this morning... I think we're somewhere in the 15-18" range here.

About 3-4 inches here too. I was just over near Maplewood Mall and they have only a trace.

I'll be really happy when March is over and we can get on with Summer...Imgonna

Left the house this a.m. with wet roads to drive to Cedar Rapids, IA down 52, got to Zumbrota and the lane was down to 1, then had to drive 5 miles south of there just to find a cross road clear enough to turn around.  There looked like 15"+ on top of everything.

One of my employees drove separately down I35, and had to turn around in Albert Lea and come back.

This pic is from just north of Zumbrota and it got way worse from there... 4" of packed ice on the road, snowing, and down to 1 lane.

That looks GOOD compared to the side roads.

My Z71 was pushing snow with the bumper!

I left for work this morning in my little Aspire since there wasn't a flake on the ground. Got "high sided" about 4 miles from Owatonna on hwy14 with all four wheels off the ground. Waited for a plow to come by and my boss was right behind him. My boss pulled me into the plowed lane and we made it to work. Then we waited another hour and a half for our lot to get plowed so we could get the trucks out. Owatonna got 16 inches. Now I'm back home with green grass on the gound and the sun is shining.

I think subaru WRX turbo pancake motor would be better. That way the front axel shafts would stay in the engine compartment and use the original chevelle tunnel for the rear driveshaft.

Must have got about a foot of REALlY wet heavy snow. Alll my crappy trees are laying on all my good trees. Gonna take a couple of chain saws to clean up this mess. Supposed to get in the 60's over the weekend, hope that helps. OF course it was 80* on monday and we still have this mess.bs

Dang, that sucks that you lost power. I have a big generator for just those emergencies.

Had to pick one up today.  We were dark for almost 12 hours.

BTW, summer has been canceled.  Don't shoot the messenger.  angry

We were without power for 7 hours total today... from 11:30 - 1:30, and again from 3:45 - 8:45

Just came back on, and hopefully stays on.

I don't know the snowfall total, but it's a lot... very heavy stuff. My in-laws shed roof collapsed.

I saw maybe a few flakes of snow yesterday to just make the ground wet and that was about it. It was a pretty nice day today around here. Chilly but no precipitation. Strange winter we are having this year. Guess thats the price we pay from the pleasant winter we had last year. Figured we already recieved our comeuppance from the heat we got all last summer. Guess mother nature wasnt done with us when summer wrapped up last year.angry

Snowfall wasn't as bad as last year at this time.  There was a narrow path of hail  that hit Lake City at this same time. Crops had to be replanted and hay fields were depleated. Roofs had to be reshingled.   Snow plows were  out in full force, used to clear a foot to 4 feet of hail off various roads around the area.  Yes 4 feet, that is not a typo.

Yes deeper in the ditches.  This was in low areas where the hail washed down and over the roads.  Looked like frozen dirt.

It was the night before the first day the the  4th period for hunting turkeys.   May 2nd, ask me what happen to my turkey blind.
