It's the 66 SS I bought the first week of Oct of 65

What are the odds?  Everthing seems to match up to the car I bought in October of 65;  I would be interested but block, trans, and 12 bolt gone along with original bucket seats. .   One odd thing, is that the car has the guage package.  This meant it was suppose to have a KK tack.  This car does NOT  have the dash drilled for the tack; but indications of a tack installed at some time  on the sterring wheel column,  just exactly as the car I bought  .  All options that I had and color are the same.

Wow! Do you have any of the original paper work? Looks like it would take a significant amount of time, effort and money to bring it back the guy even states “it needs some work”.

No a guy in Red Wing had a 66 frame from a california car that he bought to fix his freinds car.  The friend died and the wife sold the car.  Much to my dismay not to me, as I was in Florida.bangheadbanghead  It was listed on craigs list.  I will see if I can located the ad.

Looks like it is still there.

 

There were some frames under a few 66 gto's at the junk yard.  Its Automotive Recyclers. Rochester, mn, just google it.

Thats pretty cool to find your old car. But there is no way that is worth that much since its missing all the expensive to obtain parts. No engine/trans, no 12 bolt, no buckets, no guages, no console. Its as if someone sold all the expensive parts to cash in and is no attempting to do the same with the rest of the car.

 I was thinking $2000 if the frame was good.  I tried to buy a pair of upper and lower control arms and a PS gear from a salvage yard in Rochester the other day.  He wanted $50 for each lower and $35 for each upper and $50 for the ps gear box.  Also had a good frame for $600.

I saw the craigslist one but he wants $800 for it. I have not called to try and offer anything on it yet.

 My mistake.  The guy died over a year ago, so it's been sitting awhile.   I guess I would have went after the 4 dr sedan in missouri last fall.

 I think a GTO frame is longer behind the rear springs.

Chris, do you need a whole frame or patch pieces ? I have a '67 GTO frame here we could cut up. I think it's bent in the front.
