I drove to central IA on Tuesday and drove this car. I made an offer and he turned it down but called last night and accepted it.The car is well built but needs a lot of massaging to get the body ready for paint. Price of the car is about what it would cost to buy everything on it for another "starter" car. I'm almost getting the body for free... nana

It's a grey primer right now. Color is undecided.  Hood sides come with it and will go back on. The tunnel ram will come off for an RPM performer too and YES, it will get Vintage air/heat. It will need a better rear axle at some point too.

And... the gas filler neck is still on the fender, not inside the trunk.  Which you didn't seem to like on the other ones.

The ad is already down, so he must be serious.  What year/make is it?  Sorry, if it's before 1955 I'm not good at car identification...

It's a '38 Master Deluxe, though most of the "Deluxe" series trim is missing. The interior is spartan but fairly complete and usable for a while with 5 gauges, tach and tilt column. He moved the fuel tank from behind the seat to the sedan location under the trunk and routed the filler neck thru the fender. He doesn't like the filler or tank in the trunk any better than I do. The battery is actually behind the right front tire in the huge cavity of the sweeping fender. I really like that too as I don't care for the battery in the trunk either, or the 20 ft of cable to connect it all up to the engine. He originally had a blower on the motor and it was built as such. He claims the compression is 8.5 but even with the single quad tunnel ram it has plenty of power and no low end bog, as I assumed it would have. Car actually runs out really nice. The engine was new when he built the car 3 1/2 years ago and the odometer, that was new then too, shows 23k+ miles !! He has driven it all over the Midwest and even to BTTF 2 years ago with no issues. It has a Chassis Engineering front suspension conversion but with manual rack and disc brakes. I will upgrade to power rack and replace the 2" drop spindles with standard to get a better ride. It will eventually get power assist brakes too, and I will most likely move the master/booster to under the floor to clean up the engine bay.

Scott, I don't know if I'm going to sell the tunnel ram. I didn't think it would bring much revenue, especially with the single quad conversion, but if I decide to part with it, you'll be the first to know....thumbsup I was thinking "wall art too". It would look good with the huge wrinkle wall slick I acquired last January at Karl's...rolleyes

I like it. My chassis eng front end is adjustable. Raise front end up and down.

 This one doesn't have coil-overs. I should call them and see if I can convert it to that instead of replacing the spindles. CE is only 80 miles East of where the car is and I could go there on my way back.

Mine doesn't have coil overs either. Has big cup that sites over top of spring there is a big nut on top of tower you turn it it raises oR lowers front end

 This has the cheaper weld-on unit...doh  I don't remember seeing those adjusting nuts on it....guess I'll know for sure on Tuesday. Forecast is for rain there tomorrow.

I like the look with no running boards. I also like the dropped front end but understand your desire to improve the ride. I would guess that there's not too much travel in the suspension right now. The wheels look good on the car also.

I don't think changing the spindles is going to give you a better ride. It will only raise the car's height. The dropped spindles only move the spindle up 2". You still have full suspension travel with dropped spindles. Personnaly I like the way it sits now.
