As Event Coordinator, Chad is going to be posting the meeting locations as they are locked down rather than waiting until the month before to set it up.  This way everyone can plan with plenty of notice.

Thanks Chad for being proactive!  thumbsup

It’s ok Mitch, even at our age we can still plan five months out. I’m glad to get the advance notice; my February social calendar was already filling up.

Anyone have any thoughts on a Christmas party?

I don't have a "social calendar". Maybe once I retire, I can start keeping up with things.

Maybe the Christmas party can be a little further North this year ???

November is at corvette specialties. Usually no December meeting. Jan is usually at Karl's. I'd like to put in for a spring meeting at my place--maybe April?

I should have the GTO body ready to go back on the frame in March. We could have a tech session/meeting and all lift the body off the roto and set it on the frame ....razz

No Dec. meeting per se, but we will have the 2nd annual NCC Holiday party Sat. Dec. 15th (save the date) at a metro location that is more 'north' this year that aren't happy about going south of 494. razz   More to come.

I'm going to try and see if we can't get a factory tour of Metro Moulded done for the same day since people will already be up in the area. They have to do come checking on feasability since it's not a normal working day, so no promises. More on that if it can happen.

I just realized the car is only about 20 minutes from the meeting, so I might be able to make it for a short time depending on how long it takes to check it out... have places to be in the afternoon, so I can't stay long though. :(

Looks like I won't make it. I forgot to ask for the day off. I thought I did, but boss doesn't have a request form and already has me scheduled for a route on Saturday.

:(

Wish I could have made it... the guy with the car I want to look at stopped answering his phone, so I didn't run up there yet.

Does anyone have good pictures of the 57 Chevy with the 67 Impala roof on it?

I do, they were taken at another visit, so they might not be as far along.

Interesting.....I like the transition at the back but it seems the windshield should be laid back more to match the rear slope.

Thanks Bryan.

Mitch did you miss this meeting? Having stuck my head inside I think more windshield rake would really cut into head room.

I dont think a lot of people realize that car looks exactly like a 57 Boyd Coddington built called the Chezoom.

Very similar, but CheZoom had all of its proportions changed, not just the roof... bigger fins, sloped front, etc.

If I remember correctly, the roof skin was from a '68-69 Barracuda.

Well ok, maybe exactly was too strong of a word. There is clear inspirations in the build of the tan car.

The roof line looks OK to me, but I really like the older speedo swap. Not a huge fan of the 57 style, but I really like the 55/56 V shape one.

 Actually, that is a 57 Chevy speedo/gauge cluster. It's from a 57 chevy truck.

when I was talking to him, he said it was from the earlier cars, but either way, I still like the style. I have 4 of the speaker grilles I will find a garage art use, and I think I still a V-shaped speedo too.

I think the stock roof looks better on the '57. It's a curvy, rounded car and the crisp sharp lines of the later roof clash with the rest of the body, in my artsy fartsy opinion.
