Sept. meeting is TBD-We are talking about a short fall cruise (not the Duluth run), so maybe we could do it on Sept. 22nd when we are supposed to have our meeting.

More to come.

As Derek said, Oct. meeting is at his place.  Details to follow.  Thanks Derek!  beers

I actually noticed when we were at Car Craft last month that this October marks 10 years since are initial meet and greet at Dean Ribich's and brought that up with Derek and John D since we were sitting next to eachother chilling out during the show. Derek brought up the idea of having the October meeting at his place since he was the one that started this and got the ball rolling, we pretty much blame him ever since. laughing

There are a lot of new people in the club that may not be aware of how we started. Thanks to the post that Derek started about getting together for a BBQ, we all blame him for this thing we call, the NCC. Havent looked back since.

The clubs actual anniversary would be the upcoming January 2013 meeting as 10 years prior to that was when we officially got the tax stuff established and were initially able say we were officially a "club" at that point when we got together at Karl's whom offered to host us that first time.

Inagural Meeting

It was an impressive turnout for sure.

1 1970 LS6. Which is the legendary "benchmark car". Which we got to see do donuts in the driveway. (second from right)

1 of the 99 only 1969 Yenko Chevelle's. Complete with the matching numbers 427 and Muncie. Unrestored. (far right)

1 1970 L78 El Camino of Keith Anderson's. (4th from the left).

Derek brought up his 69 before all the road race stuff and recieved a fender bender at the stop light at the end of the block. Which he can tell the story of if he wants.

Photo also shows proof that Chris R actually does have a Chevelle and was present with his 66 on this day. (3rd one from the left next to Keiths)

And a newsletter I did a while ago. The pictures are not good, I got them off the website back then and it was the best I could do with what was there at the time. Didnt quite look so bad once they were printed but what can ya do.

http://www.northstarchevelles.com/NonSecure/NewsLetters/08marapr.pdf

The Team Chevelle banner was because we hit up Al of Team Chevelle fame to get thier banner and they actually shipped it to us, we proceded to autograph it on the back IIRC before we sent it back.

Does anyone have any contact information to Dean Ribich? It would be cool to invite him and see if he can show up to the meeting at Dereks and hear how he is doing these days, he pretty much dissappeared not long after this. I havent heard or seen him since.

Rick,

Derek has a big yard and a big shop. Get that motorhome and we'll have a place to stay. Make sure it has aworking bathroom.

I WISH!!!  I can't afford original LS6's, Yenko's, or the like.  That's why I trade down in the poor man's territory of clones and Malibu's...

Rick, there's a bed up in the bar area of the shop, and 4 acres to camp if you want to do that... might be cold out though by Oct. 20th.

A few years ago. Just the two cars on the right would have equalled a million dollars.

We'll have to make sure the next pres/vice pres is clued into the plans as well since technically, they will be in place by the anniversary meeting. Me, Derek, and John had been throwing around cool ideas for that meeting as well. I think we ran them past Stan IIRC at Car Craft. But really, it may be entirely different peopleleading the club in January.

If anyone has ideas for the Oct. meeting, I'd like to hear them...

I have the space for a "tech session", or even a small swap-meet if anyone wants to do something like that, otherwise we can just hang out and BS like we all seem to be so good at doing. cool

Backstop and target board are already up (and been used a few times) but I don't have any shooting benches built yet.

I would want some trustworthy individual(s) to volunteer to be somewhat of a "safety marshal" just to be sure everyone is handling the firearms safely, but I'm definitely open to letting you guys use the back half of range. (couldn't safely use the whole 150yds with people in the yard)

There isnt any term limits, anyone can run for the same position as much as they want. They are 1 year terms is all. I wasnt about to imply anything more then to bring it to our attention just in case really.

Just didnt want to assume we would have the same crew running for possitions again without thier imput just in case they didnt want to run again for next year is all.

I sent Dean an email inviting him to the Oct. meeting...

Dean wrote:

Hey Derek:

Thanks for the invite.  If I am not hunting that weekend, I will see if I can make it.  Would be fun to see all the guys again.

Can’t believe it has been 10 years.  Then I look in the mirror and I say I guess it has!!!  HA HA HA!!!!

Derek. Invite him to the January meeting as well, its closer and may be more convenient and advanced enough to allow him to make it.
