I'll have more info on if there will be a goodie bag stuffing party or not. We WILL need people to help move cars again on the 18th (saturday) in the evening. Last year we had a good turn out and it didn't take too long. Since we have that manpower, I'd also like to take some time to make out the parking lanes, we'll be doing them a little different this year so we can fit more cars in. We're also going to move the entrance gate to the frontage road off 65. No orange fencing-free spectator admission. I will be working on getting additional parking lot space too, it depends on our inventory and how many service repairs still on the lot.

Since we won't have the giant circus tent, pop-ups would be a really good idea. Last year it was really hot.

We've had a decent turn out for vendors/sponsors and door prizes. Food will be handled by Chris & Robs http://www.chrisandrobs.com/ and they will have a special car show menu made up. They are REALLY excited about doing this, and hopefully we can do more with them.

Last year a group of us went out to dinner after getting the Friendly lot ready for the show. I have talked to someone at a local pub/eatery very near Friendly Chevrolet and if we have a head count they will set us up with a place to eat and make sure we have service.

I met with Bryan this morning and it is time to put together a head count for:

#1: Those who will be able to work getting the lot ready late Saturday afternoon for a couple of hours;

#2: Work at the show on Sunday.

Let me know if anyone is interested in going out for a sandwhich Saturday evening and I will make arrangements.

Please post your availability so we know.

As mentioned in the other thread, I won't be able to make the show this year.

Someone will need to coordinate the pickup of the Club EZ-Up, banners, and two tables from my house between now and 8pm, Aug 13th.

NO to # 1 due to the 18th being our anniversary night (28 years!  hyper)

YES to # 2.

Bryan, does the revised parking plan include a way to line the cars up?  Last year ended up a little 'snakey' with the front ends of the cars.  Maybe lay down some rope or cones as a guide?

Sunday will be an 8am show up time. Show opens at 10, but you know there will be early birds who will have to wait a little bit. It will also give us time to help guide in vendors, set up operations, put out door prizes, and put road signs up, etc.

Stan-I'm thinking snapping chalk lines would be best. We can't do anything permanent and the lines will wash away quickly.

I plan to be at both events and can help out with whatever needs to be done on the day of the shows. I will probably leave Sunday early from the show as Sunday is race night.

It looks like we might make it after all. Not sure what kind of schedule I would have for the weekend. It is over 150 miles from here and about 30 from our "hotel" in Edin Prairie (Cathy's sisters). Not sure if I want to put 400 miles on the Chevelle or drag out the bus and load the trailer.banghead Not sure what help I would be, but could sit behind a table and hand crap out or something.

Gas jumped 30 cents a gallon today alone down here! If I bring the bus, I am up to almost $250 just for gas. If the price continues to rise, my crap handing out carreer might be over before it even starts!hyperIf I do make it, I would be willing to work the registration (at least the late registrations, my hours are world famous).boringJust set me up close to Stan.Imgonna

last year we had larry there pretty much the whole day, he was in a similar capacity, plus a couple others who did the table most of the time. We certainly can always use the help. Even with parking or flagman, or just another body circulating around with the club's shirt. We'd love to have you, but I also understand.

Can anyone get the stuff from John D this weekend? Even if you can get it to me, I can get it to the show. We need the tables, pop-up, and the Chevelle Row signs. if we had to, we can forgo the tables (and go to plan B), but the popup is pretty crucial without shade.

We also need our cash box and the 2 part raffle tickets if they can be brought to the goodie bag stuffing, car moving, or the show. Who's got them?

We could use a couple extra chalk snap lines to mark parking lanes

bodies, bodies, bodies..... things go quicker with more people.

Not sure of my weekend plans yet (other than going to King of Diamonds car show sat...), but I MIGHT be able to get the tables, pop up, and signs from JD and bring some of it to your house Bryan.  Then I could bring some of it to the show on the 19th.

Or, if any of our retired friends in the metro are out and about tomorrow, maybe they could stop by JD's in the p.m. and get that stuff to you?

Mike (OscarZ) has the cash box and I think the raffle tickets.  If he doesn't have the tickets, they are at Craig S.' place in the apparrel tubs.

Same as last year, club members do not have to pay for show entry but also will not be considered for awards or door prizes. If you DO want to be eligible, you pay the $10. Entered cars will have a dash info sheet like the other shows. Club cars not entered will get some sort of VIP dash sheet.

I also am looking for one volunteer to specifically take pics of the cars as they enter. More info this weekend, but basically a low shot that also shows the Friendly building front in the background.

Goodie bag stuffing will be at 6:30 at Corvette Specialties on Thursday.

We will need bodies to move cars on Saturday evening, time to follow.

Sunday I will have the gates open at 8 for set-up, vendors will be coming in between then and 9. Show opens at 10.

What time does the sales floor close. I'm just looking for a show time, I have several things going on this weekend and want to at least help out Sat.

We should just buy some orange or yellow vests as a club so we have them.

Bryan,
Maybe you can make a list of tasks to be accomplished and then assign tasks and then supervise activities. Last year you took on maybe too much yourself and your helpers stood around waiting for orders. Don't be afraid to ask others for help.

OK, talked to them. We'll have a show up time of 5pm. They will already be working on moving the far east end vehicles, and he will help coordinate with us moving the used vehicles.

A list is in the making.

Can I get a head count for tonight, sat, and sunday?

I need to hold on to mine till I'm sure there are no issues with the new set Mitch. Tires shipped Friday, should be here mid-week, rims are here, I’ll get them mounted balanced ASAP, the current set should be available before next weekend.

Thanks.   beers
