I'm sure watching the burn out contest was entertaining but I'll never understand the need to spin them till they blow and then slap the crap outta the side of the car.....headscratch

So what else went on at that event besides seeing how much smoke you can let out of your tires?

The basic jist of the event is to be able to get a little "nuts" at a national car event, on a real track, without a laundry list of rules & regs.

The 3.1 mile road course was open... rules: 100mph limit, seatbelts, single-file through the chicanes, ZERO alcohol in your system (checked via breathalizer at track entrance). You can carry passengers (once they've signed a waiver, and at least 13yrs old)

The dragstrip was open in the off-hours of the road course (1/8th mile). It was "old-school"... no timers, no tree, just a flag-drop guy and go. Basically a grudge match format, you can jockey around in staging to challenge & run someone.

Then there were the judged/trophy events:
PowerSkid
Burnout
Drifting
Sound-Off
Drag Race
Miss PowerCruise

I've attached the event schedule which gives a pretty thorough description.

On Hoosiers (aka "Black Crack") which aren't known for their longevity in any conditions, much less a burnout contest. cuckoo
