At work, we still have some 12 oz cans of R12. Looks like you use (your own) dispensing valve to get into the car, must have a needle to pierce the spot on the cap or base of the can. $50 retail, for NCC MEMBERS, $40 each. no qty discount, but I have a bunch.

I don't mean to rain on their parade, but I buy them at swap meets for $10-15 can. I have about a dozen now, AND the install adaptor.

How long has it been since you last seen a can at a swap for that price though? They have gone way up in price the last few years. If there are sellers out there selling cans of R12 for 15 dollars or less a can, ill take 100 of them.

I bought 2 of the 6 cans a swapper had a month ago for $10 each. R 12 has actually gone down significantly the last couple years because the demand has dropped. Many of the older vehicles that are being restored are converted to 134A as will any of mine that get A/C.  Only my Pete is still R 12 and when that's gone, I won't need it anymore either. Conversly, the cost of 134A has steadily climbed as a result of the demand over the past several years.

If you really want a stash, I have 2 guys that go to most of the swaps and watch for it for me. I can arrange for you to obtain some.

no biggie. just wanted to put it out there. If it gets to the point where it drops, I'll let everyone know.

I know when the big R12 changeover came and people panicked, we bought the remaining supply from a local supplier and when they were delivered, we basically transferred all the pallets directly to another trailer and a truck came to pick them up. We kept the non-palletized ones and the rest (20 pallets or so), went to a guy in Texas who was hoarding them. We made out huge between the purchase price and still sold them at market value, and he was still happy since he scored so many.

I sold 2 CANS FOR $40 on Craigslist about a year ago. Guy drove 25 miles each way to get them as fast as he could get here also.
