We went to Red Wing on the Harley for the Fathers Day car show there. Started raining about 2:00. We holed up in a restaurant and then a scandinavian store until 3:30. Cost a few bucks at the store. We finally decided it wasn't going to stop and left in a steady rain. We were soaked to the bone and cold when we got home.

Spent most of the day working on the 55. Getting the engine compartment all cleaned to paint it.

Slept in until 9:45 which is way late for me. Went to brunch at Edinborugh Gold Course (good food, completely ridiculous circus of errors for service), then home for a little bit. Went to see the Disney movie Chimpanzee in the afternoon. Home, a quick mow. Dinner for me was slices of summer sausage and gouda cheese with bits of jalapeno on saltines--hey, I dig stuff like that. Meat and cheese is a staple food for me. Hit up Cold Stone Creamery for an evening snack. We had a coupon and they had a sign on the door-buy one get one for dads. For the 4 of us, we got out for less than $10.

Happy Father's Day to all the fathers, the gonna-be father, the grand fathers, and the rest of the daddio's we have on here.

Went, to Church, arrived home at 11:00. Drove to Elk River and jumped on the 12:03 NorthStar line to the twins game with the family. Had to leave before the game was over, because the train left at 4:55. Game went to 15 innings with the Twins winning 5:4.

Missed both you guys, we got there at ten and left about two when the rain drops started.

We went to the park and checked out the concert. Found a great place for lunch called Marie’s and saw one very impressive Chrysler 300 cross ram.

Had a great weekend up at the cabin. Got the boat in the water and endured total torture during 1/3 of the "recommended break-in procedure" of the new lower unit.

Do you know HOW HARD IT IS to "putt putt putt" around a lake, doing forward/stop/reverse gear changes, keeping it under 3000 rpm/75% power for 5 hours!!! My boat really has 3 speeds - idling for a putt, about 3200 "on plane" and about 26 mph, or to the wood @ 5000rpm / 50mph. Anything below 3 grand and you're just digging a big hole in the water.

(I'll admit, I cheated a bit. After about 2 hours I just HAD to hammer it... HOLY CRAP BATMAN - the difference a new prop makes. This thing just LAUNCHES out of the water and gets on plane fast!! But I was a good boy and backed off and went back to putt putt-ing)

Next phase is another 5 hours of moderate power usage... again, no full throttle extended runs, cruising at 75% or less, and no towing/skiing. Then after that change the gear lube and it's good to romp on it!!
