1968 El Camino Blower Motor Question?

If memory serves it just goes back into the "pressurized" air plenum/chamber, I think right on the mounting plate of the motor... so when the blower motor is on, it feeds air back into the motor housing to cool it.

I have a friend of mine that is going through motor, and front suspension on his 1968 El Camino.  His question is:

On the blower motor, there is a rubber tube that goes from the motor housing to where?  His is missing, how important is it?  Can he just plug the housing on the motor, will it be OK, or run hot?  Anyone have a picture of how it should be?  Does anyone know where you can get that tube?

That tube is usually used on an A/C car because the fan runs all the time. The tube brings clean air into the motor housing from the plenum versus dirty, outside air. Don't plug the hole, the motor will overheat. I would think they are available aftermarket, but if not.....stealbay will have one.
