John that would make a nice 'hers' for a 'his and hers' 65 duo in the family!

Heck, the 12 bolt is almost worth the price of the car.

Didn't they have posi in both 10 and 12 bolt axel assemblys in 65?

Yes, Posi-traction was offered in both 10 & 12 bolt housings, with a myriad of gearing...

My guess with the "angry 6" under the hood, it'd be a 10 bolt... but wierder option combos have happened

In the early 90's I went with a friend to look at one of those strange combo cars.  It was a '69 Camaro with the straight 6, 4 spd and 4.10 posi.  It was supposedly a one family car per the son of the original owner who had the car.  He said his Dad had special ordered it that way!  If I remember the sellers story correctly it was ordered that way because his Dad already had a nice motor out of a wrecked car that he planned on putting in it and didn't want to shell out the dough for one they were pulling soon.   The project never happened...

My friend ended up buying a different odd car.  It was a '72 GS 350 with a 4spd and bench seat.  My friend bought it from the original owner who special ordered it dark green with a dark green vinyl bench interior.  This combo wasn't in the Buick catolog so it got Cutlass interior.  I wouldn't have beleived him but he still had the paperwork from when he bought it!

I'm sure many strange things happened back in the day that resulted in unusual cars.

Certain gear ratios with a posi got a 12 bolt instead of a 10 because of the rarity of the combo. Faster and easier to just throw the 12 bolt in on the line.

Mike, some early 70's Chevelles received Buick interiors when the factory ran low because of a delay in manufacturing.

1968 was also a strike year that when Chevrolet ran low on Chevelle interior parts. They grabbed parts for the Pontiac and Olds A bodies and used them instead.
